A question I have wondered for a while and a few people where talking about it a little bit in a thread about wich gta mission was the hardest.. And the question I have is wich controller is easier to play any GTA game in? A console controller with joy sticks, etc. Or just a plain old pc keyboard ?

This is mostly for the older GTA's, such as VC, SA, III, even IV. I grew up as a console guy, so for me console was always easier. Put I have tried on PC lately, and it is actually pretty good. I played the entire VC story on PC and I enjoyed it alot more than what I did on the old PS2.

Both obviously, since both have advantages and disadvantages at the same time. It's much easier to complete missions with precise aiming available with the mouse, but joypad gives you bigger control over character and all vehicles due to analogue sticks and buttons.

Depends for me, but I grew up with console controls too. Walking and driving are a lot easier with an analog stick, and aiming a gun is incomparably easier with a mouse. I never got far enough into PC SA to say anything about flying, but just looking at the controls for it makes me think Console flying is easier. Overall probably console controls since it feels more natural to me, but with experience and a bolted-down USB joystick I'd probably do better on the PC.

Do you mean you use a joystick or a controller? There`s one I haven`t heard in a loooong time.

Well, my dad was into PC gaming for a while, so we have a few usb joysticks around the house. But until the last sentence I was just talking about the analog stick on the controller and using the wrong word for some reason. :p My bad.

I played GTA games on various PS consoles,Xbox 360 and PC.They all have their advantages and disadvantages, but after getting some experience you can play well on anything.I personally think console controller is better for driving(more sensitive throttle and steering),but mouse is better for shooting(you don´t auto-aim random NPCs instead of enemies by accident).

I grew up playing on the keyboard. But, recently got a lot of GTAs on the consoles and sold my PC. So, for me, it's easier to play on the controller.

I prefer using a keyboard, and mouse for the most part. I do however use a controller when I am flying a helicopter/plane.

It`s a disadvantage playing with a controller on the PC, because it`s not optimized for that, which is what you`re doing. If you played on a console you`d have a blast. You don`t need precision aiming because the newer games auto-aim at direct threats to you first and other NPCs second (it was hell in GTA III though.)

I'm a pc gamer, so obviously I'm gonna say it's much easier to use a keyboard and mouse. I have no experience playing gta on consoles (except psp), but I've tried using a controller. Precision is just not there, takes longer to aim, etc. You just have more control and freedom using a keyboard and mouse, and camera controls especially works best with a mouse.

Controller....

I am currently playing Chinatown Wars on iOS for the first time ever. I never played this game before, period, and I never used anything other for GTA Gaming besides the Playstation 2/3 Controller. It's much, much different and feels odd to me. Luckily, I hold the phone similar to the way of the PS2/3 Controller, so I should get used to it in no time.

I never played GTA on PC, either, only GTA and GTA II, however, it was only for a few minutes and I did not like it at all. As for the 3D Era and HD Era, I never experienced them on PC, but I'd imagine it's harder due to learning different controls. ALTHOUGH, the same can be said about a Controller. Some people are so used to PC Gaming that a Controller sounds terrible to them. It's all what you are a custom to, basically.

Are you left handed or right handed? Whatever you started "using" when you were younger, will probably be what you get used to most. I used the PS1/2/3 Controller for 15 years, basically, so of course I am gonna stick to what I know and not bother with PC...
