LeakyLine
When a YouTuber dies, how do you react? Whether you're a fan or not. How do you take it? I remember I was devastated when I found out Yeardley Diamond died, even more so when Kitty0706 died. See, the thing is, they may or may not be people you know, but they still feel close to you. Thoughts?
Ezza.
I always feel pretty bad when a YouTuber dies, or even comes close to it (I was pretty shocked/sad when Markiplier went into hospital for surgery recently). It feels bad because you're losing someone that was such a big part of your life for so long, that you just don't remember what you did before they came into your life. I guess it's really the same reason why so many people lost it when Michael Jackson passed away, they were losing what was (to them at least) a good friend. Pavle
Well, when I heard that Yeardley Diamond died, I was really devastated and deprssed. I was even more sad when I heard that Kitty died. I don't know if anymore YouTubers have died. I hope not. LeakyLine

Fireman
Maybe if WalrusGuy dies I'll feel obligated to cry, but apart from that, meh, they're just people on the internet. Heard someone who I played CS:CZ with a lot died of a heart attack not so long ago, no one on the server seem to be bothered. I feel more for these people than random people on YouTube though. Theodore93
A don't know who any of those people were. There's not been an internet personality that i like who has died that I know of. There's only a few youtubers I actually watch. I like their stuff but I can't imagine I'd be that affected if any of them died. S0lo
my reaction? I've stopped feeling sad about people i don't personally know dying a long time ago. It keeps me from worsening my state of depression. The last time i had a hard time not caring was when Robin Williams took his life. But even then i was able to quench the feelings before they got bad. There is so much pain just in our personal lives, i really don't see why we should add to that by caring for entertainers. That is in no way meant to be disrespectful towards anyone "famous" who died or who cared about them dying, it is simply my own personal way to go about it. ?!=+_-, jatiger13, redfirebird87 and 2 others
Skeever
I don't keep up with many YouTubers anymore, but I can see why people would be sad when they find out someone they've been following for many years happens to dies unexpectedly one day, their stream of new uploads simply coming to an end (besides a friend/family member making a memorial video). They're real people like everyone else, so it's completely understandable to feel that way.I'd certainly be sad if hickok45 passed, he's the only YouTuber I follow anymore, but that probably won't happen anytime soon since he's only about 13 years old. In dog years, that is. Zyo and WavyWeazel
Finn 7 five 11
I think the big thing with YouTube personalities is that often you'll follow them a long time, they'll make you laugh, tell you stories about their life, teach you, they'll make you ask questions about things that might not appear in real life conversations, you can learn a lot about yourself you know. I remember fighting depression a few times and being drawn to Seananners, he talked about sad things, asked questions about life, told me about his, made me laugh like crazy, it's great. I still watch his older videos with nostalgia, it's like an old memory with friends. I'd be sad if he died, it's like losing a one way friend, you never really get to share who you are, it's a friendship that's not about you which can be a different experience. igotskiz

However, cancer is in alot of cases a treatable disease. Going to the doctor regularly can help detect it in time, so that your chance of treating it successfully increases. So yeah, maybe they should've took better care of themselves. But when I see stuff on the news, such as bad accidents, I don't feel sad. I think "oh that's bad", then I move on. Other than that reaction, stuff like that doesn't really affect me emotionally. QuackinAColdOne
I don't really watch Youtubers but, it's still sad to hear it when they pass. I'd be kinda upset if one of the sidemen ended up in the hospital or died, just because they're the ones I watch (If I ever watch anything gaming related). Flachbau
Honestly, I don't really watch YouTube videos as much as I used to. I kind of lost interest a while ago.. however, I do have a favorite YouTuber or two. TheSlapTrain is one of my favorites, cause we share an interest in Forza and drifting, all that kind of crap. My other favorite is LinusTechTips. The guy is super intelligent and knows whats what when it comes to all things computers and anything related. If I hear of their passing, then I'll be pretty bummed, not gonna lie!

Lemoyne outlaw
when yeardly passed i was kind of sad. i was looking forward to seeing more of his awsome gta 5 content. and a few years ago i was close to suicide and the only thin that helped me was gta 4. that includes great gta 4 videos. i loved watching machinimas and short movies by yeardly and jantsuu. but i got over it pretty quick. still today i watch his older vids and laugh and remember nostalgia. now back when yoteslaya died i did not know about him but my friend called my up one night and told me his favorite youtuber died. i did not know about him or watch his videos but i tried to help him relax. he was on the verge of crying. eventually he calmed down. its always sad to hear about someone dying unless that person was evil and deserved it. heck everytime i hear a siren i pray that whoever is hurt will be ok. igotskiz
I'd feel like sh*t if anyone from Roosterteeth/LetsPlay, or PewDiePie (regardless of not following him in about a year now) dies. It's sad to see someone who had such an impact on life pass away. I'm honestly shocked at the lack of empathy from many others in this thread. It's not anyone's responsibility to cry like a little bitch, but you have to feel some emotion towards someone if you watched anyone's videos every day and if they impacted you in some way. K20
if i was a fan of a youtube channel i wouldnt be upset about their death, but upset that there will not be videos of that kind anymore. i'd be sad if i personally knew them. thats saddening. its like people crying and going to coffin processions of a celeb-like-person they never met and no personal relation. i never get that. most of these people wouldnt even think about it when their distant uncle/aunt died. they'll be like "shi* i gotta go to a funeral". society is indeed screwed up.
