EvilFiend
Some of you will be kiwis and already know but for those that dont, today was the day steam finally said "Hey we see you sheep shaggers there and we recognize you are paying customers. We are going to do something nice for you guys n gals" So they made NZD the running currency for NZ customers. (yay) Well anyway this has kind of made GTAV cheaper. The previous price was 75 USD but now its only 75 NZD which makes me think that the original price was in fact a mistake as 75 USD- 98 NZD going by todays exchange rates. So if you pre ordered the game in USD my advice to you is get a refund asap and reorder it and save yourself $23. I know its not much but hey you dont get rich by throwing your money away. Totallycasual
Yeah i paid $127 AUD to put $100 USD onto my steam account only to be charged $75 USD, i dont mind copping the exchange rate its only fair but when Steam is selling to US customers for $60 USD and charging me $75 USD its a bit harsh, not sure i care enough about the difference to cancel and reorder though glad you guys in NZ got sorted out though. Totallycasual
We shouldn't have to resort to such things just to get something for the same price as the US, they're closing that loophole up anyway, pretty sure its going to be that gifted games will only work in countries with the same price bracket. Meaning a US copy which was purchased in the US will only work for you guys, to stop people buying cheap copies in Kazakhstan or something like that for $20 and gifting them back to premium price geo-blocks. Gifting from those really cheap countries has been stopped already, still works from the US to AUS though. And no, we shouldn't have to do it. GTA V shows at NZ$92 (well $91.99 to be exact) for me though. Maybe I was too slow. Edit: Just read a thread on Geekzone about this topic. Looks like the NZ$75 was an error and it changed to NZ$92 when it came to finally making the payment. Anyone who did it get for 75...well done!
