Talking of Merryweather pickups, oddly you can't shoot the boat guy in missions but you can in freeroam. In a mission you have to shoot next to him to get him scared so he jumps out.

What? Yes you can.

Ok then, start a mission on your own, go jump into the ocean, call for a boat pickup, climb up and try to shoot him in the head.

He has protection on so you can't shoot him.

Why the troll replies? of all things.

Because people are dicks and can't just answer the damn question.

OT: call, let him land, go slightly behind him on the left side, and get a headshot. I don't see how you could miss but I guess it does happen.

I'd like to pilot the merryweather chopper myself rather than riding it, but there's a 89% chance of the pilot successfully escaping. Is there a way to guaranteeingly kill him 100% all the time?

Do your shoes also come untied 89% of the time? Can you not wipe your ass 89% of the time? Do you get laid 1% of the time?

Yeah dude! I don't call for a boat often but when I have, I've been unable to kill him.. he has friendly fire protection much like teammates

1 shot with the pistol to the head works nicely. has always worked for me.

If you shoot anything else, or more than 1 shot, youll likely end up heavily damaging that weak heli.

headshot with a pistol, dont listen to these scrub who use autoshotguns, or anything else.

Stick a silencer on the standard pistol, if R* aren't going to let us drop that POS it might as well have a purpose. Silencer = less chance of a wanted level.

Well, OP, I wouldn't want you as a team mate in a Heist.

Now to go back to trying to complete Series A Coke with randoms for the fifteenth f*cking time.

One pistol bullet to the head. Wait for the chopper to land. Shoot him once in the head. This has worked for me 100% (yes 100%) of the time.

I literally use the Musket every time, it's really that easy to do.

Is this even a serious question?

I mean, he just sits there and doesn't move his head at all. Maybe try using a sticky-bomb if you are really THAT crappy at shooting.

Lol I use musket every single time too. right outside of his door.

I heard jets work very effectively though

Well for me he moves away as soon as he sees the gun, shotguns are pretty much resistant, pistols have a soft aim to chopper windows, rifles are too prickly for so target and explosives are self-explanatory.

Resistant? Soft aim? Prickly?

Even a starter pistol headshot will kill him. I never understood other players' need to use anything heavier as it could cause unnecessary damage to the heli.

Wait for him to land then aim for his head?

if you have sh*t aim you can always 100% kill him with a homing launcher.

OP - I just gotta ask how did you come up with the number 89%?

Not 90%, not 88%, specifically 89%. Interesting.

The Merriweather Pilot dies 100% of the time for me because I shoot him in the head after he lands. This has never been an issue, ever.

11% is pretty much exactly 1/9. Try it 9 times, fail once, 11% Edited by stainesey

Erm....really OP?

Are you struggling with THAT of all things?

Okay then...go to ammu nation and get yourself a sawn off shotgun(you get it for free by signing up a social club membership, which is also free), call the chopper, wait until it lands, walk up to the pilot and shoot him, that should do it.

I mean, OFC that should do it, it's not rocket science!

Forget trying to get the helicopter, buy a dictionary instead. Guaranteeingly...WTF?

Why the troll replies? of all things.

Well, I came in here specifically to hang sh*t on "guaranteeingly".

Also, Merryweather pickup unlocks at rank 30. Well done on getting there without mastering headshots, but seriously, stop relying on auto-aim and learn to shoot.

The number of times i hear randoms say "i can't get him - he's out of lock-on range" is horrifying.

He lands and sits completely stationary. Where is this 11% chance of missing coming from?

Also, nothing in life is certain except death and taxes.... and the Merryweather pilot should've been a hair dresser.

lol op said 11% chance of hitting the pilot and an 89% of missing
