KERS not working properly

Even when my KERS is fully charged most of the time I can't get it to activate properly. I have to keep spamming L3 and maybe 10% of the time it works. Is this a problem with my controller? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks.

How KERS Works:
Charge it up by braking
Hold down the Left Analog (Not Spam) click Left Analog to use it (Credits to StangOne50). Although since were talking GTA, I wouldn't be surprised if its a glitch or bug.

I just click not hold L3 and it works. Test your controller by trying to perform both versions of a player action smoothly by using L3 and R3. Or even just test it by standing and pressing L3 to crouch. If everything else goes smooth then you will know its a problem with your lectro and not your controller.
