philbeau
Recently bought a gtx titan black and decided to sell my gtx 690. The offer I took gave me cash and a Evga gtx 770 sc 2gb. I don't really plan to keep the 770, but maybe I might stick it in my system for physx (until it is sold). Wondering if my psu has enough power. It's a Cooler master gx 750 watts My specs are: i7 4770k stock with corsair h100i cooler,Gygabyte GA-Z87X-OC motherboard32gb ram Hyper X 1866mhzAsus GTX Titan Black,2x240gb kingston ssd v300,1to hdd,750 watts cooler master gx power supply Thermaltake level 10 gt caseAsus PB278q 2560x1440p monitorWindows 7 professional 64bit sp1
Reformed Squid
If you could handle a 690 with that PSU, then you will have no problem with either the Titan Black or the 770 because they both consume less power than the 690.
philbeau
Combined power under load (titan black +gtx770) is higher than a gtx 690. I just don't know if physx could use 100% gpu usage on the 770.
yoječ
The PSU will do the job, although I can't really see the point of such setup.

yoječ
They can't, but @philbeau explicitly said he wants to use the GTX770 for PhysX, not SLI.
philbeau
Thanks again yojo2. I'm selling the card anyway, since I don't need it. Just wanted to know if it was safe. Spec says the titan black and 770 need 42a each on the 12v rail. Does it add up to 84a needed if both draw 100% power? The psu says 60a max on 12v rails. Have you ever seen any power consumption test related to card dedicated to physx. Everytime I find something the graph are not there anymore. yoječ
No, it doesn't add up, and it's not accurate anyway (way higher than actually necessary).
philbeau
I will try, if I have some issues, crashes or instability I will just take it off. Edit: I ran the benchmark in Mafia 2: Titan black, no physx: avg 61fps Titan black, physx: avg 57fps Titan black+gtx 770 for physx: avg 74fps Every other settings maxed, 2560*1440 resolution. The gtx 770 ran at about 33% during the benchmarks and using 197mb of vram. During normal gameplay, it ran at about 2-13% using again what seem a fixed amount of vram of 197mb also. I think it is the only game I have that uses physx. So I took the gtx 770 and kept only the titan black since it already suits my need.
