LCS PSN (PS2) Version fixed already?

Hi guys so as some of you know and have shared in this forums and even R* already acknowledged back in December here https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200147636-Low-frame-rate-in-Liberty-City-Stories-as-a-PS2-Classic-on-PSN

There are some heavy issues with the frame rate of this game on the PS2 PSN version, I was thinking on buying this game and VCS but happens today I stumbled with this on threads I searched here and on Google.

So my question is the following, has the issue been fixed as of now? Somebody who bought the digital one, are you still having issues with that? Should I'd still purchase it even is not fixed, does it really becomes unplayable or not? Not having a backwards compatible PS3 or a PSP, kind of leaves me with this choice only, so yep.

Thanks in advance if anybody knows how is it doing or if you can give your advice to either get it or now.

i bought it a few days ago because it was on sale, i can test it tomorrow and report back. VCS, VC and III worked fine though.

I don't have the digital version downloaded right now (to save space), but playing via the original disc on my backwards compatible PS3 is giving me the same horrendous frame rate problems that the digital version had, so yeah, I don't think its just an issue with the downloadable copy.

If you can stomach the frame rate (usually 15-20FPS), then get LCS, as it's still a fun game. Also, the PS2 version of VCS has a much more stable framerate, but the digital PSP version is just as bad as (if not worse than) LCS in terms of performance, at least on the Vita.

I also have LCS for PS2, but play the physical copy of the PS2 disc in my backward compatible PS3. Like Cartman said, it's still bad even on that Version.

If I were you, I'd just get it. LCS is very, very good...I've already completed 6 Save Files, all 100% with Perfect Stats, and Special Vehicles. SA and LCS are probably my two favorite GTA Games in the entire Series...

Enjoy a great game! Seriously, LCS has so much magic inside of it, so much to discover. Furthermore, if you played III, the nostalgia of the 3D Liberty City will come back. LCS is easier than III, but I love them both.

The Stories GTA Games are very underrated. I like LCS/VCS a lot...

That is the originals, though. I doubt the actual PSP has problems, since it was designed for PSP. These Games are a bit different on PS2/3.

Furthermore, there is a game breaking problem on PS2 Version of LCS. Blown up wrecks of Vehicles do NOT get re-newed in the Garages, thus some Special Vehicles are completely unobtainable on PS2/3, even though you CAN get them on PSP...

There is a lot of differences between PSP and PS2/3.

I bought it two weeks ago.

I've had no issues whatsoever.

80GB non-BC PS3/EU PSN account / PAL digital copy

I had it for years on PSP and adored it. The PS2 digital copy was reduced so i bought it and the graphics are a treat compared to the PSP version, especially the reflections and draw-distance!

I've never played the PSP, I only watched Youtube Guides, but the guy making the Videos was playing it on PSP. It did look a bit "worse" graphically than the PS2/3 Version, though.

However, if I was a custom to PSP (As I don't own one, and never played a single game on one), I'd probably pick the PSP Version of LCS over the PS2/3 due to one major problem as I explained above. Blown up wrecks of Vehicles do NOT restore in the Garages, which makes some Special Vehicles unobtainable on the PS2/3 Versions as apposed to being obtainable on PSP.

It's strange that blown up wrecks don't restore, considering they do in EVERY GTA Game, even IV's parking spaces re-new blown up wrecks. It really bothers me the PS2/3 Versions of LCS do not do this...

Programming glitch perhaps?

No idea. It's only in LCS. Not VCS, and it's only in the PS2 Version where blown up wrecks don't restore in the Garage like they do in III, VC, SA, and VCS...
