The "Live a Little" Achievement/Trophy

Seriously: WHAT WERE THEY thinking? It requires to spend EIGHT MILLIONS on vehicles added with the heist-update. Eight millions? I'm Level 121 and I have just finished the last Heist as a Leader and now I have a total incoming of around 12 million? Is Rockstar expecting us to play the heists with all the disconnects and hours of waiting over and over again in order to get that cash?

I hate it, since I don't want most of the new vehicles. Seriously, whats so special about that armored Kuruma? It's ugly, it's slow and it's too expensive. Yes, it's armored, but every car I own is armored 100%, so what's the sense. Or that Bus for like 500.000? That's stupid and it really sucks that you have to waste millions of dollars in order to get this achievement/trophy. But hey, I guess Rockstar is still interested in selling shark cards, right?

And why can't I edit? I typed stuff in but it won't apply? Why is this forum so slow today?

Usually, some of the achievements are fundamentally irrational or hilarious in their nature. It s by design. Since you are not gaining anything from that achievement, just ignore it, simple as that.

Really you blame this on cash cards? I feel like this whole post was to bitch about that.

You don't HAVE to be a completionist. And the Kuruma slow? Really? You want your cars to be f*cking hyperjets or something?

And If you actually looked at it and thought about the Kuruma, your cars may be 100% armoured, but a player could still shoot you through the windows, all that armour does is protect you from scratches and dents. The Kuruma on the otherhand, if you actually f*cking paid any attention to it you'll see it has armoured windows so people can't shoot you through it. Or well it's atleast a lot harder. I'm still scratching my head on how it can be slow...

Oh there is a very big difference between just armored and the armored Kuruma... have you driven one? It can eat more ammo than Cookiemonster can eat cookies. You really should try out the Kuruma... and it's FAR from expensive... I would have paid even more for this beast.

The achievement requires you to spend eight million on heist items, it never specifically tells you what to buy within the heist items. Therefor you have no right to complain about how the prison bus is a waste of money, newsflash don't get what you don't want to buy or don't get the achievement at all if you're bitching about it so much.

Then you redirect everything you said to saying Rockstar wants you to buy shark cards, pathetic.

Good thing there were excellent money glitches you could have exploited.

No it says heist vehicles.

However, if you buy a Hydra, Valkayrie, Insurgent (Pegasus Variant), Savage I believe that's about 8 million right there. And that's leaving out the Karin Technical.

You don't need to buy a Kuruma, Guardian, Casco or personal Insurgent.

If you're really desperate, just keep buying the Kuruma (either version) and reselling it. You'll get to the $8 mil mark eventually.

Hmm.. maybe this achievement wasnt meant for you.

I've been saving for a rainy day since before the business update. Also just completed criminal mastermind. I'm sitting on 52 million. I think this achievement was meant for me instead.

Also, the armored karuma is a beast. It handles well, IS fast (considering how well it protects its' occupants) and waaaay cheaper than a chrentorno.

Shut the f*ck up with this shark card bullsh*t its old and retarded. Rockstar isn't forcing you to buy them they aren't forcing you to get the achievement. Honestly there are companies who use micro-transactions in a much worse way than what Rockstar does but no, little bitches like you have to drone on and on about how evil Rockstar is and that Shark cards are like the cancer to this game. Wake up they aren't, you are.

Shut the f*ck up and deal with it you whiny little turd.

Conici, you seem like an irritable sort. maybe u ought to chill..

there's a plainly obv connection between this achievement/trophy & cash cards. i found it humourous, but then i've no issue w/cheating ;)

there are quite a few trophy hunters/people who like to platinum games. it is a bit of a finger in the eye for completionists.

my advice? 250k challenges be your best bet atm for grinding cash if you've missed the money glitches.

Those have been patched today ;)

Than again... 8 mil isn't that much if you were playing since start.. and with the new Job-vote screen you can easily make 200k/300k a day with 3 friends and just farm all the 4+ player missions

People can find a conspiracy in anything. Doesn't make them any less of a crackpot.

And everyone always wants what they can't have.

And you can get a sh*t ton of money "legit. I bought all of the vehicles, except the Technical and had $20 million left. Now I'm back up to $24 million with heists and bonuses. And when I finish the Mastermind Challenge I'll have the money I started with before heists came out.

ccc threads are so 2014.

You could literally buy everything from the Humane Labs Raid and hit 8 million on the dot. Both Insurgents (675K, 1.35M), Hydra (3M), Valkyrie (2.85M), and the Dinghy (125K I believe).

So that 8mil figure is just a coincidence??

Cash card threads may well be played out, but their existence still underpins/undermines everything else in the game. They're a cornerstone of gtao so they'll always be a point of reference, both for the players & r*/t2. You & I may have made our peace with them (in different ways) but it's still legit people be affected by them because they are such a driving force in the gameplay.

Got my trophy yesterday when I bought a Savage for my second character. No glitching, but I do need to get on with the Criminal Mastermind challenge to top the coffers back up now.

You don't. It's optional. It has no bearing on anything anywhere if you do or don't.

Seriously: WHAT WERE THEY thinking?

I think they were thinking, "let's make this optional thing for people who spend lots of money that'll have absolutely no bearing on anything anywhere anytime."

Buy 16 armoured Kurumas at $525,000 each, which costs $8,400,000 in total.

Sell said Kurumas for $315,000 each, which will bring a total reimbursement of $5,040,000.

Total expense to get the award is $3,360,000.

Bosh.

I got the acheivement the other day. I started playing the game a few months after launch, and a massive percentage of my in-game earnings were saved for when I really wanted things. With Flight School I bought the Besra. I never bought super cars. Ever. But with heists, I bought everythinh but the Savage, and thats only because I have yet to do the setup for it.

So its the 8 million figure that bothers you? I'm sure it is no coincidence that a $100 shark card gets you the same amount. It's not a conspiracy. It's not a secret. R* sells cash cards, that's their business model. They've explained why. To think they wouldn't balance payouts to maximize their profits would be foolish.

The "I want it meow" crowd may cry, but I thank them for the free DLC.

huh? none of it bothers me. i'm just saying for all the sh*t he got, OP has a point. the achievement is there to entice people to buy cash cards. that's all.

it's canny/crafty/crappy of r*/t2 to do that but that's how it works these days. he has a legit grievance.

but, fwiw, i stand on the opposite side of the fence to you regard cash cards/free dlc. however, like a few others here, i've done that debate to death. it is what it is.
