I don't see the problem.

My oldest daughter is 10 and she plays regularly.

The first computer game she ever played was San Andreas, or as she called it "the boy with the sunglasses".

I was a bit unsure about her playing it online when V came out but until she puts her mic on you wouldn't have a clue she's a kid.

Reasonably high ranked and she can handle herself to the point an old crew mate calls her the supersoldier.

 

It's only a problem if the parents don't supervise their kids with this kind of thing, and teach them how to ignore/deal with all the jumped up entitled little wankers that can't handle losing in a game IMO. It's no different to when I was a kid watching 18rated horror films etc.

 

If that makes me a bad parent you better call social services cos my 8yr old daughter has started playing occasionally now too and my son is almost 3 so won't be long until he gets in on it too unless you save them.

I was allowed to watch gory horror movies, porn and drink alcohol (few beers when I was a jr in HS) around the house when growing up. I turned out just fine and my friends considered my parents "cool". My parents also worked me hard around the house because sh*t needed to get done.

 

We didn't have violent video games then only Atari but I'm sure my parents would allow me to play them.
