Switching houses

Recommended Posts

I know someone posted this, but I can't find it, so if I switch my apartment to a house in Paleto Bay, can I still call my mechanic to bring cars in the garage switched and can I still replace, sell, mod, etc. the cars?

If you own a 10 Car Garage and move into a house (all house garages have only 6 spots), it will get rid of your first four cars you own, because you can't store 10 cars in a 6 Car Garage. You can change the four cars that are being removed by switching them into their respected place using the car placement tool in your garage. The first four cars on the left side from back to front will be removed (see crappy typed out diagram below). Switch the four cars you're going to get rid of in those four spots. You can choose to sell these four cars before moving, or you can try not selling them. If you don't sell them and you move back into a 10 Car Garage property, the four cars that were removed when you moved into the 6 Car Garage will be put back into your 10 Car Garage. Very confusing, I know.

The cars in slots 7-10 will go into storage.. Those cars can be called for and sold or brought to another garage however if you do sell or move a stored car you will lose that slot.. you cannot move a car from your other garage into *storage because that space doesn't technically exist. If you want to keep cars in storage I suggest cars that you really want to keep but you don't use often.

Mr. Crowley

If you want to sell a stored car without losing the slot it's easy.

-Walk out front

-call mechanic

-order the stored car

-get in the car and drive it into your garage.

-it will say garage is full and one of the cars must be moved to storage.

-click ok and then pick which one you want moved.

-your formerly stored car is now in the garage and the one you replaced is in storage

You can sell the car from your garage and replace it as you see fit.

You can have empty slots in your garage.

It won't automatically move one from storage to fill it.

Just make sure before you sell a stored vehicle that you first move it to your garage and move another one to storage if you want to keep the slot. (If you have empty slots you will need to fill the 6 garage spaces up first to do this)

If you sell it directly from storage then you lose that space.

It just takes a little care and preparation.

I've done this many times now.

No Wrong

It doesn't get rid of them.

It puts them in storage.

When you call your mechanic and select that property it will list all 10 cars.

4 will have (storage) next to them.

They can be ordered and driven normally.

No Ummm, yes, you can. As explained above, they get put into storage. They can still be called, but not used in races. Edited by TheGoodSgtScooter
