Map textures fix

Well, I don't use any other texture mods aprt from this one and the vegetation one that is also yours, so here should be the right place to ask

 

The bag Tenpenny puts on CJ's head in the mission Green Sabre is supposed to be black, but either I got a corrupted txd or you messed something up and now it have no textures

sorry for asking this but what means this?

The files that overlap with SA Vegetation Original Quality have got the vegetation textures merged into the new *.txd-s

 

If i use "SA Vegetation Original Quality" plus this mod whats gonna happen?

They will work just fine together, the plant textures will still be HD.

I don't know if that is completelly related with my mods, I didn't change any custscene textures and I've been looking for that bag in my DB and is not present in any modified folder

1.- Is a model bug but I can make a workaround to make it less noticeable

2.- It actually has a texture but is the plain white area that can be seen in that door and windows

3.- Completelly fixable as it's a bug introduced by me (wrong naming)

 

 

I want to anunce that I've been working on some things here and there and I'm thinking on doing a workshop, I've got a lot of miscelaneous mods and single textures that I want to release and I cannot find an easier way than this to do it

And I also want to say sorry for being offline so much time and for not releasing some previously anounced mods, I've been busy the last months and I don't think I will be able to continue doing fluid updates like before

 

EDIT: the black bag of The Green Sabre mission is bugged by some of my files, I've managed to test it but I couldn't find where is the bug

I think making an workshop is a great idea, that way you can share your source textures and other stuff.

I fixed some ugly gradient textures, didn't want to create a whole new thread for it so I figure I would post them here:

Basically R* originally used DXT compression for these textures, wich completely screwed up the gradients, so I made new ones from scratch.

 

They are uncompressed since any compression method I've tried breaks the smooth effect, I didn't fix all of them yet.

Try THIS, it's the PS2 model converted to pc.

Small update to the "pleas_dome.txd" for people who use PS2 .dffs and SkyGfx, added new completely remade HD bubble textures:

Uploaded only these textures, the rest are in the pack i posted before.

 

DOWNLOAD (includes source textures)

 

Edit: Don't recompress the texture, it will lose quality and break the gradients, instead use Magic Txd and select "none" in the compression options. Don't worry all textures are already compressed except for the gradients.

Well since this thread is about textures only, adding those kinda misses the point :p

 

Now that I think about it, we really need a new thread to post PS2 files that are actually visually different from the PC version, I'm sure there is more apart from Jizzy's club and the stripping place.

One thing I don't like about this mod and the HD vegetation textures is the mobile fences. They are too clean, don't fit the game atmosphere.

I notice it, but then I just forget about them ... It will be nice to restore original PC fences, or even find/create them in HD.

I'm very sure only those dffs was broken comparing to PS2: Jizzy's club bubbles and Old Venturas, strip club broken NVC on LIVE NUDE GIRLS sign. Anyway, we can compare it with the PS2 map converter to be sure.

Maybe, but again we didn't knew about the smoke in Jizzy's club and other places apart from the Alhambra until The_Hero fixed them (I know it's not texture/model related), but my point here is, details are very easy to miss.

Good. Now I just wait for square in water fix, and may`be some updates for map fixes and Aztecas_5 vehicle fixes, and then will complete SA again )))
