I've recompiled the mod using latest version of Magic.TXD:

The official version of this mod (v3.0) uses DXT5 on every texture (even if there is no alpha mask), which isn't cool... Now it's correct and the mod is more stable (the current Magic.TXD is very very stable).

 

@LaDiDa this isn't a fix, we need to remove the Tenzo R and DC to make it lore friendly. GTA doesn't use real brands.

Hey Junior, thanks for that, is great to see some actual updates for the mod instead of random russian repacks.

I originally designed the mod to be kind of community based, providing old and new textures in a easy to use png format so that anyone could do it, that worked sometimes during development but when I left it was mostly forgotten.

 

A message for a spanish gaming forum and community:

Those spanish guys that say I'm a russian dude, you couldn't be more wrong, I'm also spanish.

Who the "f u c k" is monetizing my mods?

 

My original links where direct links to my Mediafire, and unless there has been any change to the terms of this forums, whoever moderator that's making proffit out of it, you can burn in hell, for free.

 

Anyway, use the link provided by Junior a few posts back, he has improved some things.

 

EDIT: Aparently someone has been using my account (I didn't log in since April but the edit was aparently made by me this month), I have restored the main post and changed the password of my account.

I have some questions for the author. First of all, does the download pack include the latest textures and fixes (both by you and the others), or I'll have to download them individually after searching the topic? Also, as I like to keep things original, what is the name of the texture in the image above, so I can exclude it? Third, what should I do with changeme.txd? Replace it with what?

Changeme.txd should just be put into modloader, you don't need to change it (vanilla file is an empty txd which I think are the cutscene airport panels in the background? They're untextured on vanilla, could be the missing textures for the rocks in countryside as well, can't remember which was which).

Thanks! I'll have to use modloader then. So far I just replaced the files in gta3.img. But I remember reading somewhere that this is not a good idea (why?).

The download has everything except for the gradients fix that Reyks made.

The txd of the BogStandard hotel is named sunset01_lawn.txd.

You can treat changeme.txd like a regular txd, modloader is the easy way so just place it there along the other txds.

 

As a sidenote, Junior recompresed the textures the right way, you can find a link to the ModMix download in this thread, I highly recomend using those files instead of mines, they can prevent some memory management issues.

You might know, do those textures overlap with any of the textures from "Mobile to PC" project? I am sure about the dumbbells...

Well yes, a lot of them do overlap, but I don't know wich, I have only used those textures as reference and as detail layer to some vanilla ones.

But I don't really know why would you prefer those (I mean every one has its own opinion, this is just mine), from what I could see, most of those were stretched textures with some really bad compression that highly reduced the color palette of each of the textures, they seem to be sharper but most of the time that's just because of the lack of intermediate color shades to blend two diferent colors.

Great! The only reason I'd use them is that I thought they would have higher quality than the fixed ones.

I think I'd already included all the ones that were really of higher quality in my mod, the dumbells that you mentioned earlyer for example, as you might have seen in the main post has been updated with even some extra features over mobile version, fences also has a new texture, the palms have also been remade, etc...

Mobile textures in the mobile engine look beter because they're overlayed with a detail layer as they're rendered, but the textures themselves are quite lacky in quality.

Yeah, the fences I'm really on the fence about (pun intended), they're better resolution wise but also way too clean and bright + they aren't replaced at every place the fence appears even in the mobile port (probably because there're 2 different names for the same texture).

I just figured out, that in Junior's version, the changeme.txd doesn't open with Magic.TXD v1.1. Should I replace it with the one posted in the topic?

I haven't tested it, as you can see my last update was like 4 years ago, and I haven't been doing a lot in San Andreas, but you can test it easyly by installing it and starting a new game, if the panels on the airport are white then something is broken in that txd, if not, then you're good to go.

changeme.txd works fine on my end (panels are red), haven't tried opening it though. Used the same link from junior so something might've gone wrong with your download.

The kart doesn't have a light reflection on the ground. Is this a texture fix or should I look elsewhere?
