Does the "heavy combat" outfit work in freeroam/other Jobs?

Recommended Posts

Supposedly the heavy combat outfits you can pick from the Heist outfit selection screen (when they're available) will halve the damage you take while making it impossible to sprint. I used one in the Humane Labs Raid and that checks out. But I've noticed that when I bought one in Freeroam, I can still sprint. Haven't really been able to verify the amount of damage thing.

Also, do bulletproof helmets still protect you from headshots like they did before? If so, it's weird that they wouldn't use one of those with the Heavy Combat outfits.

The heavy combat outfit does not offer increased protection during Freemode/Missions, but it also doesn't slow you down.

As far as I know the Helmet still gives increased protection against headshots.

Nope, Utility Vests only have an effect on your damage resistance and mobility during heists -- it's only cosmetic during free roam and other activities outside of heists.

Bulletproof helmets work with the vest, yep. Don't see the point in going without a BP helmet if you want to have as much damage resistance as possible, might end up saving your life in certain situations.

thanks bros

I'm glad because now I can go back to my standard "armored" outfit, which is a bulletproof helmet, boots, boxer shorts and nothing else (which if I'm reading you all right is still the best protected outfit in the game :) )
