Cloud Servers Down?

Can't load my character, says the Servers are down. Le sigh. Anyone else getting this?

I've been getting booted out frequently from heists. Either people hate me beforehand, or server lag.

That's why I use German for day names. No issues that way.

That's funny, I only have problems on days that last 24 hrs. Keep to the days with an odd number of hours.

Children's jokes aside, this does happen more on Fridays and Saturdays since more people are off from school or work so there's a heavier load on the servers.

 

I did stumble upon (at least on PS4) a workaround for the "Cannot contact the server" error when first attempting to connect to GTAO. Select Character Transfer, then the game will tell you you can't do that because you've already tranferred, and then it will attempt to connect you to a random public session - but without the cannot contact error. It seems to for some reason keep trying until it puts you into a session, kind of like an "auto redial". Why it works I dunno, but this has so far worked for me every time, even when the cannot connect errors were immediate by normal methods of connecting.
