GTA: V digital edition on XBox 360 question

Ok, im wondering if any of you fine people can help me.

 

The dvd drive in my xbox 360 has sh*t the bed.

 

Before I bother fixing or replacing the system, im curious if I purchase the digital copy of gta:v, will the usb stick (that I installed the play disk to for better performance) still work with the digital copy of the game?

 

It is a noticeable improvement and id be sad if I had to go back to pop-up los santos...
