I've read somewhere there is clothing that reduces damage taken, but I can't find which is it.

Only in heists. Heavy Utility armor reduces damage by half and prevents sprinting.

Bulletproof Helmet reduce headshot damage.

They only work in heists right? Because I can sprint just fine with the same outfit that made me slower than a turtle in a setup mission

Armor only works on heists, everywhere else they are just clothes.

a " double-edged " armor , provides heavy defense but sacrifice movement speed

a best combo would be BP helmet + heavy utility vest + strength + Lv 100 = greater defense in heist

this vest also very effective if one seated in gunner seat , compensating the defense over gunfire exposure ( valkyrie , technical and insurgent pickup )

Yes, the Heavy Utility Armor is so useful for most of the heists.

You can use it even if it's not selected for that heist in particular.

Just select the option where you can use your saved outfits and choose the armor one.

ahh , just save it under name " Heavy " set

includes :

~ heavy utility vest outfit

~ bulletproof helmet ( black )

~ black tact gloves ( from last team standing update )

~ orange gun glasses

~ LSPD headset

The only problem during heists is that the BP helmet, even if saved with mask, is removed once heist mask is applied,

Does anyone know if the stealth vest works similarly providing speed boost or increased stealth when used in a heist?

if you're being a gunner in the valkyrie during the humane labs raid, and you're in the side seat, you're doing it wrong.

well , those merc tend to shoot you if the pilot fly too low and just got shot couple time in Co-pilot seat ( though , i didn't choose the normal minigun seat , but those seat allow players switch from right to left minigun and vice versa while Co-pilot don't )

it's hard to telling the pilot not to fly close to the ground or fly higher than buzzards

honestly the side guns give you the biggest problems because you HAVE to be close to the ground to use them. they can only aim downwards so much, but the nose gun can point almost straight down. pretty much anything in a 180 degree arc thats below the nose is fair game for the nose gunner.

Hvy armor suit does actually help in free roam as well. About 10 or 15 percent less damage. I tested this.

Better test I tried, full health and armor VS shooting the grenade launcher straight down.

Best test: use the weakest gun point blank to the chest. Most accurate measurement.

Also hvy sniper.

With plain cloths it is a one shot to the chest.

With hvy it takes two.

Has anyone tested the stealth utility vest?

since it's not " heavy utility " , it does not have " double-edged " effect

lol , it's is one shot up to lv 99 ( if they has enough strength , this increase survive chance from heavy sniper )

usually ppl would die from pump shotgun at point blank range because of spread ( in addition , it has a chance to trip players to ground , leaving them defensless )

although , firearm-melee still one hit

Test the helmet as well.

I already have but sure will test again. I took like 2 heavy shotgun shots to the head last time I tested.

that's why it has smaller spread compared assault shotgun ?

even though the damage is par as sawn-off shotgun , 3-shots still not enough to kill an enemy ( especially when used in longer distance , as this shotgun appears to be having a longer range than any other shotgun ) . not to mention the screen-shaking/recoil make it difficult ( although , assault shotgun has notable screen shaking as well , but this aren't trouble as the spread just wide as normal shotgun , except it turn anything that caught on crosshair to swiss cheese )

You can survive a buzzard rocket with the heavy vest during the heist missions. Friend found that out the hard way.
