So why do people constantly start free roam battles then kill them selves?

 

Is it to protect their K/D ratios? Do they think that they are robbing people of kills? I dunno..

 

Personally i feel sort of flattered that players constantly take the 'easy way'' simply because im coming after them. Seriously, you guys are just making me look good when you do this..lol

 

Example from a few nights ago. This player killed me 3 times... but killed himself 20 times when i went after him.. Yet he sends me a message saying he owned me. And im just sitting there thinking " Ya, bitch, you killed yourself 20 times and did the work for me".

 

I don't get it...I can understand when people might do it once in a while because they don't want cops around. But when they do it every 15 seconds its just mind blowing. Why so scared?

 

Are you Suicide Drama Queen or would you rather take a Sponge Bath with a drunken Trevor on a Friday night then take the easy way out.?

It's to get full health and no wanted level. I suspect for some people it's to respawn elsewhere as well, when they're in the middle of a "battle".

I have people do this all the time when they see a mugger I've sent after them. If you didn't have any money to mug, then who cares? If you had money and saw the mugger enough to do that, why not attack the mugger? Or why not attack the mugger anyways? Makes little sense.

 

Some people do this when they have mercs sent after them and I guess I get that - it registers as the mercs were successful and the person who went them is out the 7500.

I guess the problem might be that some players confuse free roam as a competitive vs mode. When free roam is really about who gets the last laugh. Watching someone kill them selves over and over is funny regardless.

Put it this way, if you're in a gun battle and the guy suicides, it's usually because he's already killed you, so get your gun game up.

 

Ok with that out the way, these are two reasons I suicide (If I bother to).

 

- To have equal health, After killing someone in a 1 on 1 scenario, the easy thing to do is kill yourself to reset to full health for a fair second fight. Lots of DM players do this, me personally, I do it sometimes, but usually not that often, at least not for that reason.

 

- To get a better respawn location, this is one I try & do sometimes, because when you respawn in "sniper line of sight" it's sometimes too far from cover, and easier to kill yourself, either by interaction menu or RPG at the floor, to get a more desirable spawn out of immediate danger.

I use this one a lot only if I'm in a guys range and I know he's trying to snipe spawn kill.

 

It has no bearing on a players skill, so why you would take it as a compliment I really don't know, it's just the player leveling the current playing field, even though it's GTA and never truly level.

 

Edit: in your example the guy who killed you 3 times, I am going to assume that 20 is an exaggeration, and he suicided 3 times, maybe 5 maximum for ideal spawn location. In that situation you did in fact, get owned.

 

Also forgot the cops, I always use it to get rid of cops, because f*ck them I never give them the satisfaction of killing me, those OP f*cks.

If you and I shoot each other until one of us dies (let's say I die), then I respawn with full health and (let's assume no snack or armour are available to you) I have an advantage. If you kill yourself then you get full health and respawn somewhere else, removing the only advantage I may have of knowing exactly where you are, and I don't mean "a blip on the map", I mean "in that corner behind the bush" or "taking cover on that roof".

 

It's a tactic - some people employ it. Some don't.

So basically they are too stupid to heal, use armor or avoid cops. They cant handle it and need to take the bitch route constantly.

 

Well, im glad that most people are not like this. Could only imagine these guys fighting each other. The kill feed would be filled with suicides.

It's their way of playing it - who cares what they do? I certainly don't. Either join them or leave. You're not being forced to do anything you don't want to.

 

Also, you can't say someone is too stupid to use armour if they're going at it with another player and have used all their armour. Stop making judgements on people based on how they play a computer game.

 

And before anyone says it, no, I have never done this myself. I just don't care how other people play it because I'm not so hormonally charged that I have to base my emotional state on a reaction to something that doesn't even exist, so I'm neither defending or condoning this action.
