Vice City Buildings Interior Texture Problem!

Recommended Posts

Nicky_T

Hello everyone!

First off, I would like to express my excitement from finally joining this forum which has helped me big deal in the past regarding my GTA games.

I'd hate my first forum topic to be a issue-related one, but this issue has been persisting for some time and I would REALLY be glad to take care of it once and for all.

It's related to interior texture problems that I have experienced lately while playing Vice City. Now this has never happened before and everything worked fine, until I decided to go "clubbing" in the game and was able to see through the walls and ceiling of the Malibu Club (as indicated in the screenshots). After I became concerned with this, I decided checking other buildings that require additional entering, like the North Point Mall. And to my surprise, it was the same thing - see-through ceiling with transparent upper walls above the second floor stores. I could've taken some uneducated steps towards fixing it, but instead decided not to cause a bigger problem. I looked throughout the network for similar topics, but no luck.

So my question is... is there any hope or way of fixing this!! I would really appreciate the help since this is my most beloved game of the series!!

Thank you all in advance! :)

Yup, quite a lot. Mainly TXD editing in the gta3.img file. I've also added a few files regarding car speclight, XBOX trails, widescreen fix, wet road reflections fix. I've added missing textures once through a mod, but the biggest mod I've done so far was importing the XBOX version vehicles and wheels. All was done with the purpose of making my game look as much as possible like the XBOX version, since no such mod was finished ever.

Funny thing is that if I start a new game and go in the Malibu Club after the game intro, it looks the way it should be with no missing textures (can't say the same about the Mall though).

mate use the edit button next time plz instead of double posting. simply edit and it'll be ok. I used to have that seeing thru walls thing too b4. but in the 2nd image i see that ur colors r kinda weird. mods mess up the game. ik it from my own experience till i bought a fresh copy of the original VC.

I don't know which 2nd image you're referring to, but if you're seeing colors differently, it's because the XBOX trails mode was enabled when I took those screenshots - it adds this orange-ish warm effect to the picture, along with the trails and in case of raining it makes the raindrops 3D transparent just like on the XBOX version of the game. But anyway, let's see if anyone else has anything to say.

Not trying not sound like a mod, but this belongs in the modding. Did you rebuild the archive after you put them in the IMG? Did the problem persists before the mods?

Hi s2n vaniish, the truth is that I posted it on the GTA Modding "GTA III, VC & SA" section as well, but no response or interest so far, only plain views. I already did that - used the IMGTool to rebuild the .img file but nothing changed afterwards - the problem still persists.

Hey, R4gN0r0K. I did mention in one of my above comments that I experimented starting a new game and when entered the club it was like brand new. Can't say the same about the mall though...

Here the solution download Vice city limit adjuster from : http://almost610.ucoz.com/load/0-0-0-1-20

Then change memory streaming to 255 and press update then save ENJOY ;)

If doesn't work let me know ;)

being that this is an old post perhaps i'm too late or in the wrong place but, my problem is just the opposite...i'm using the gta vc deluxe conversion and when it comes to the mall...from a distance it looks fine but when ya get right up on it, the outside walls are missing? once inside it's ok. does any1 know how to put the original mall file back into the game without having to give up the deluxe mod all together? I tried the earlier mention limit adjuster to 255...no help :(
