Online racing issues

Whenever I try to race online. I bring up my phone to join a race and it says (sandy shores airfield) and then the number like. 4/16. This number goes up and down like people are joining. Below this it says. (Populating lobby). It stays like this and never launches into a race. Help!!!! I can join playlists and other events just not races. Please help. Thanks.

It's Rockstar's end causing this.. their quick-join option is pretty broken, took me about 20 minutes to join a capture just because of that same message over and over again.

I did manage to join one finally because I kept on re-trying over and over again until it placed me in a match already in progress.

Same here, except it's x/32 players. Trying to get 42 wins for my 2nd character, this isn't helping...

I got a message back from rockstar about this problem and they told me to bootup the game while holding L1 and R1 buttons which clears the games cache...well I did that until I lost feeling in both my index fingers (approx 15 minutes) the loading would not progress past 90% and I had to let go for the sake of my aching fingers...but...before I tried this I read here somewhere someone say the problem was fixed so I tried a quick race and it did work...it was some rubbish bicycle race...then it went to a parachute mission so I quit...then tried another quick race but a deathmatch started so I quit...tried again...ANOTHER deathmatch you whaaa!...tried again...gray wobbly screen stuck somewhere in the map where I cannot move from...so same as the last few days (

So the only way I can seem to play races (on ps4) is bring up the menu goto quick job and do play and select a specific race...not the join function as it's borked...now if I choose a race I'm either the host and others do join me...or sometimes it just adds me into a readying lobby...once your racing though it seems to work as normal with the voting options for the next race and so on
