Ok, i dont want this to be flame bait (though around here you know the trolls are gonna chime in)

 

Seriously though. PLEASE STOP USING WIRELESS. You are screwing up the game for other people.

 

I know what you wireless users are all thinking right now, "I play wirelessly and i dont have a problem" but you are WRONG. The game may seem to run fine for YOU, but most everyone else in the game sees you lagging all over the place. I call people out on it all the time. I send them in game messages like "your console is using wireless isnt it. And every one of them responds the same..."yes,how did you know?" I know because you are lagging all over the damn place.

 

Is it to hard to buy a cable? You can get a 100 ft cat6 cable for 12 bucks these days so dont tell me "wireless is my only option" Then comes the excuse, "i cant run the wire across the middle of the floor". Thats why you buy a long one. So you can run it around the borders of the room and tuck it under the base boards or the edge of the carpet. Its easy, takes no skill and anyone can do it.

 

So what is YOUR excuse for using wireless? I cant afford 12 bucks for a cable? Im too lazy to run a wire? I dont care if i ruin everyone elses game experience? Or the classic "wireless works fine for ME"

My wireless internet is free. Either pay for me to have better internet yourself or shut the hell up and GTFO.

OP knows nothing about networks apparently. You could have the best connection in the world and still have game-dropping lag if the servers you connect to are unstable (which is usually the case after a major content release.

 

There's also plenty of circumstances in which wireless can be better than a wired connection. I bought a wifi booster in January and kept dropping games only to find out the Ethernet cable I was using from my Xbox to the booster was actually slowing my speeds to a third of what it should be. Ditching the wire brought my connection up to full speed and it was better than it was pre-booster.

 

Haven't dropped any connections other than the occasional GTA server fart. Destiny runs perfectly. Netflix never drops quality.

 

Also, not being able to afford a cable is almost never people's issue. The issue is that not everyone can drill holes in their walls or run a wire all the way across their house.

First of all, call it wifi. Wireless can mean far too many things these days.

 

Secondly, lol. The reason most people respond "Yes, I am using wifi" is because most people use wifi.

 

There are too many factors involved in connection problems for you to simply say "Use cablez and it will goes away herp derp".

Free wireless means that tons of people are probably on it, your ports arent forwarded correctly and you are gonna lag like crazy screwing the game for everyone else. Thank you for helping to make my point.

 

People on wireless should be relegated to playing only with others using wireless. Sort of like a scrubs room. And if a wired player wants to join friends in the scrubs room thats fine but there should be a disclaimer (this is a wireless lobby and as such will run like chit and its not our fault)

I pay for my wi-fi thank you very much, and also I don't have a wire connecting my console because the console is 5 rooms away. Wifi works fine and you're just an idiot.

This probably describes a lot of the player base accurately. Excuse - jacking the neighbor's unsecured WiFi for free :p

You know you may say "Me breathing through my nose is just fine" it's cool if you don't agree with me or don't believe. There are a million other reasons someone may be a serial killer, but don't you think it's a little odd that I can usually spot a nose-breather a mile away?

There is no "constructive" when you're just telling people what to do, and then insulting them for whatever "displeases" you.

You want to make a constructive topic? Base it off fact not opinion or lack of knowledge. You have no way of proving anyone is on wifi unless you go in their house and check so don't act like you know better.

3 wireless isn't free you still pay your internet provider you are obviously 12

Well, for one, the consoles themselves have the settings for wired or wireless GENIUS. So it could be determined locally very easily. You think your playstation is confused over whether its using an ethernet cable or wifi? How about a constructive discussion instead of acting like a dik

I've never seen someone use wired, and we all run perfectly fine

On my xbone, the detailed test showed that my wireless connection only did 30mbps tops whilst my wired connection does 160mbps with 60% less latency. I know which I prefer. Also running wireless may cause more people to have a closed or moderate NAT. That apparently f*cks up peer-to-peer connectivity.
