On topic; I like them both, but I agree the Savage is extremely weak. One scratch and you're gone, which is a shame imo.

Sucks alot of dick

 

Savage

Beast, but that only lasts until someone fires a homing launcher at you. Wich happens instantly because rockstar decided to make the homing launcher avaible for every stinking low life low level player, making this vehicle (and any aircraft vehicle for that matter), pretty useles...

So in other words you have never/don't know how to take the hydra out of vtol or you suck as pilot

It has been patched. Happened in the last 5 hours. Apparently there's another one (according to a friend on psn) but I won't know until tomorrow

Hydra hands down is probably one of the best attack aircraft added to the game if you've got any actual talent as a pilot. If you find yourself being constantly gunned down in it.....you're simply not doing it right. Same goes for the Savage, easily the best attack heli available. Up your game before you dismiss either of them.

I believe the Hydra is actually faster than the Lazer. I did the EMP setup today and after we had destroyed all the enemy Lazers, I took the Hydra to Sandy Shores Airstrip, however I noticed that the Lazers were falling behind, and they were good pilots too.

 

OT: I prefer the Hydra over the Savage (tested them in the creator).

Flown both, but I still prefer the Lazer. I can fly fast and furious with the Lazer through the streets, in between buildings, and it maneuvers much better than the Hydra. Speed wise I still feel like the Lazer is quicker at top speed, might be because the Hydra is clunky and heavier, but I'm really not all that impressed with the Hydra and I've given it quite a bit of time now. I still find myself preferring the Lazer in every category, especially in dogfights.

why are we even comparing a plane to a helicopter it should be Hydra versus Lazer or Savage versus Valkyrie I mean seriously they are VERY different and are for very different things.

I had to ask myself btw people since no one said anything you hit right on the directional pad once you have proper lift (in a hanger takes some getting used to btw.)

I prefer the Valkyrie over those 2. Managed to take out plenty of people aiming their homing launcher at us.

Its not either/or when you and your crew are gearing up to wreck a mission spree or cleaning house in LS. It should be who is driving what lol. Personally going for all three combat aircraft added. Satisfied with the hydra immensely and about yo purchase the heilos tonight after I finish the last of the final heist.

 

Its all been said here before on stats and benefits versus drawbacks, but its all situational. I like to run with 2-3 friends and we use our assets according to our objective and friendly loadouts. When one brings out his Insurgent I'll opt to provide air support. Go with what your most comfortable with in PvP. Missions are easy and you can nuke RR garage with either no problem lol.

Fastest Jet in the game

Can carry people a lot of people on top of it in hover mode which can snipe from high altitudes

Can tokyo drift through tunnels

Can dodge homing missiles

 

Savage Pros:

Can carry 4 people

Rocket spam

Spawns on helipads which are bountiful

Helicopter passengers can now use every gun I think. Can snipe out.

I dont have either. Im bout to piss people off when i say i dont really llike either one of em. Im not good with fighter jets so i know the Hydra isnt for me. As for the Savage, its good but to much of a big target and its slow as hell. When you using the Savage you gotta [lan out a strategy strafe run win your going after ground targets.

Due to the Hydra being a VTOL vehicle is it delivered where helicopters or airplanes would normally be summoned by Pegasus?

i.e. Is it treated as a helicopter or plane in terms of delivery?
