Wait... No more 'Host job'?

So with the new heists update they changed quick job to being on call, and hosting jobs to 'play job' which is okay I guess. But the question is: How on earth are players supposed to host popular jobs now? Let's say I want to play a popular GTA race with just me and my friends, how do I start a job as host? Because the current system seems to only allow joining a job, either with or without a host depending on popularity.

Host? I thought you can host a job directly through the pause menu? Try it out, I just hosted a few.

This is by far the most stupid thing Rockstar have done in a long-ass time.

 

However, there is a way around it.

 

Be in an invite only session and host from there.

 

Yes. In order to host things now you have to quit your free roam session to single player, then start an invite only session and then host.

 

Good f*cking job Rockstar.

Clearly Rockstar have a lot to learn about multiplayer and online gaming.These things are supposed to be made easy and quick to set up.

Instead they made the worst matchmaking system in modern online gaming to begin with and now only seem to make it more inaccessible and confusing as they go along.

so via quick race on the handy, you wouldnt join in a lobby anymore? you will stay in free roam, as long as the lobby isnt filled?

It seems like through the phone, you wouldn't go in until it's launched, so you would have no time to check what the settings are, which I need to know

Most lazy way of fixing a god mode glitch but not fixing up joining a job for people standards.

 

I want to see the job I join and If I don't like it I can leave but rockstar decides starting the mission over quiting it takes the higher priroty.

Indeed, something has changed.. tried testing out a bit with a friend without Matchmaking turned off and 80% of the time we we're joining someone already hosting a lobby.

 

So I guess it's not only a namechange but something changed under the hood too.

Some lobbies it will let you host it no matter but in other lobbies it will always put you in another persons lobby no matter what you do.

Invite only ofc lets you host its not "Just a name change"

bookmark the job and start it from there -> you are the host

THIS is the only way to ensure you are the host. ^^ You pick "play job" and your prob not gonna be the host. Bookmark it, then play your bookmarks, you are host 100% of time ...... try it , you will be amazed....

This needs to be brought to their attention. We want to easily host the jobs we want.

 

I make make a ticket about this. If I choose Play Race, it is because I want to be the host. The way they have changed it to, I cannot host my own races with decent settings, unless I have bookmarked it. I should not have to do that.

Yeah, sure did. That is what I just tested 3 times on popular jobs 'Titan of a job' 'Los Santos Connection' and 'Rooftop Rumble' and it put me in as host every time.

Didnt know you couldnt host jobs from menu, but i do love the new voting screen! Its perfect in my opinion. Mixing in a string of contact jobs after completing a heist really helps the wallet and the new voting screen is a big part of that..imo

Just tested it again and someone started joining just as soon as it started. I see the problem now.

maybe this works on ps3 or xbox 360 , but it is not like that on ps4. I you choose play job , you may be host, but you may be tossed in someone elses match too. Bookmarking is only sure fire way ive found on ps4 since update

I don`t understand... I can start any job i want by using the start menu..

Yeah, Hulio. You can start any job you want, however sometimes instead of making you host, it puts you with someone else who is also playing the job you picked.

 

Im on Xbox One by the way and can confirm it is also broken here too. After several test it started to put me with someone else who was hosting the job instead of letting me host it.
