Last time we we're able to dual wield weapons in a console GTA was ironically, San Andreas. It's kind of shocking how it was never implemented in GTA V or GTA Online. I personally found it to be a cool feature to have, so I wonder why it never made it's return. After all, we have two hands. Why not wield two guns? Thoughts?

Dual weilded pistols will certainly be cool, most other weapons can't really be dual weilded though

It would also be pretty cool if you could combine two certain melee weapons for improved combat.

Just like the tomahawk/knife combo seen below.

Micro SMG, SMG (MAYBEEE) and Chradder, because Chradder is love, Chradder is life.

It's a good idea, but you must remember Gta San Andreas didn't have online.

GTA V does however, and I don't see this going well with people being abused by it.

E.G Lets say I have my assault rifle on you. In a normal situation, if you had your AP pistol out, 9 times out of 10, The AR would kill you

Now imagine if you could dual wield the AP pistol. This would imbalance the guns and too many people would b*tch about it.

But there were multiplayer modifications at the time that allowed you to dual wield 9mm's, uzi's and what not. People never complained about that.

An AR killing someone with an AP? Then the one with the AP is useless. The normal AR is weak at this point, same for the SMG.

This would be nice in exchange of accuracy.

Simple...Only able to dual with the slower pistols. Maybe come out with revolvers that, with enough practice, eventually unlocks the ability to dual wield.

And you can go up against pretty puch anything, non explosive, with an AP pistol... ?

Of course. Everyone loves dual wielding.

Not really, i dont. But considering this game is well anchored in the realm of fantasy i would not mind it as long as it had proper drawbacks to not just make it the obvious choice.

Since the other thread was closed and linked to this one I'll post this here.

They could do individual fire for dual wielding by making L/L2 fire the left hand. To activate dual wielding you'd hold right on the dpad while aiming the gun to pull out a second gun. Doing so keeps the crosshair up until you exit dual wielding by holding right again. Dual wielders wouldn't be able to autoaim since they wouldn't be able to re-aim until they put their second gun away, nor can they aim down the sights for extra accuracy. They could also lower the base accuracy, if needed.

Why does everyone compare SA to V?

Every GTA is different and have their own unique flair,if SA was R*'s contnous formula we would be bored to death with the same content.SA went for the over-the-top gangsta vibe.V went for the realistic, cinematic Hollywood movie vibe.Contrary to popular belief of what people want, this won't be implemented. If people have a problem they can keep on whining, but the "BUT X GTA DIDNT HAVE THIS" sh*t is getting annoyng.VI won't be the same as V,and VII won't be the same as VI.I would have have each GTA to have its own fresh content than being piled upon each other.

It would also be pretty cool if you could combine two certain melee weapons for improved combat.

Ideas like these keep this game fresh, people need to get over it that some features may not carry over every GTA game.

No, because we ain't cowboys, Will Smith (Bad Boys) or John Marston.

But I want to self immolate by dual wielding jerry cans and a flare gun :(

Seems kinda pointless. The weapons that might be reasonable to dual-wield can kill people fairly easily already given you know how to use them. If your accuracy sucks enough that you can't kill someone quickly with a single clip from a micro smg or ap pistol, adding a second gun with appropriate drawback won't help you much.

People who think that dual-wielding weapons in any way practical watch too many action flicks.

Of course this logic doesn't apply to GTA but still.

Oh, and this is slightly off-topic, but if anyone's interested:

If you had dual pistol the accuracy would drop by about 50%. The most accurate stable shooting position is the dual handed grip, with a single hand you are going to be just spraying bullets everywhere and not just a the target.

slimeball supreme

Not everyone can hold two guns at the same time and actually hit something.

Worked in MP3 right? Nobody complained about it. 😄

Jk of course people complained and had it nerfed into a water pistol attack and back again several times.

I'm not that bothered, I think it would look cool but that's about it. I wouldn't mind having different coloured pistols to dual wield
