The Karin Technical appreciation & love thread <3

As a chose few of you know, the Karin Technical unlocked during heist 4 is the best part of the update. I mean sure, it might not be as practical as the Savage, but god damn it, it's a piece of Japanese-made Americana. This isn't some bloated Ruskie whirlybird, or some over-armored apartheid APC. It's a pickup with an anti-aircraft cannon glued to the top of it. Simple. Elegant. Perfect.

I've seen comparisons between the Technical and the Insurgent, and the prevailing discourse seems to be that the Insurgent is better cuz it can take a couple or eight grenade shots. But with the Technical, you can keep everyone and everything outside of grenade range. That cannon can rip sh*t up.

Who else has great taste?

i love it, its a bad sport machine...

the only downside is that it doesnt come with bp tires!

Lmao, seriously?

yeah, dont known if thats an oversight or what, but thats the only thing that suck from the technical, bp tires would make it even more beastly!

last night it was me and my bro spawnkilling people with it!

A poor man's Insurgent.

I'd rather spend more money in a heavy armored vehicle than spending a little less in a machine gun attached to a potato.

I suppose what we need to do know is compare how long it takes for the Technical MG to blow up the Insurgent, against how long it takes the Insurgent's peashooter to blow the Technical.

So you can't even buy Bp tires for it either hank ? Just curious this has been something I wanted since I saw the trailer.

Its an amazing vehicle.

Just my 2 cents.

I tried it out with a friend who bought one in a freemode lobby and we had a blast running from cops and getting chased by other players.

That mounted MG just tears everything that isn't a tank or other purpose built armored vehicle to shreds.

The thing is though that it fits the definition of "glass cannon" to the T.

- Big open windows just inviting bullets to take out the driver and passenger, not to mention lacking any sort of protection for the gunner

- Lack of BP tires means stray bullets and police spike strips are your worst enemy

- Has the durability and body deformation resistance of the stock rusty rebel (no armor)

While it's fun I just feel like the Insurgent pick up is a much better deal for the money if you're looking for a vehicle with a usable gun turret. It's pretty much impervious to damage when compared with anything other than the tank, from bullets or otherwise, can ram through pretty much anything, holds more people, and protects those people a heck of a lot better (smaller windows, gunner is only half exposed while his back is also protected by the metal hatch).

Just ran some non-scientific tests in Creator.

Looks like I overestimated the Technical MG's effectiveness against the Insurgent's armor. I'd say it takes about as long to blow it up as it does to blow up a regular car with an assault rifle. Whereas the Insurgent's gun can destroy the Technical in about a quarter of the time. The Technical can still rip street vehicles apart faster than the Insurgent, but even then the difference is almost negligible.

But that being said, it's still a cooler vehicle. You can keep your combat helmets and your armored trucks, I'll stick with my beer hat and a pick up truck.

honestly it can be fun to use against NPC's.

further then that, i honestly would not mind if they even gave it the armor of the insurgent...it still would be balanced

besides, since the insurgent is considered an LAPV....if you get the meaning of what that means it is obviously the thing has quite some armor for being called such a thing, so yea, i do not think it would hurt anyone
