R* should look at implementing a chat box feature in lobby join screens.

 

It would allow people to communicate with the group already in the lobby without having to message them 1 by 1. You would know what the host is waiting for and which players are still actively on the wait. Also with heists, it would allow you to communicate to lean towards you won't exactly screw them over altogether and there will be a reward if you perform.

 

I'm sure this would lead to a lot less people leaving and sticking around if they knew the Host was waiting for someone or certain numbers to fill.

Yeah this would be a nice little addition seeing as most players don't use their mics.

Some people don't have mics and some people just don't like talking to them.

 

OT - I do think a large chat box on the lobby menu would be a good idea for people to communicate within the lobby without needing to use mics

good idea, we do need something to communicate visually. must not be a chatbox, just a few smilie options or something like that. something that lets me indicate that i am willing to wait, or that i can say what setting i dislike.

 

u cannot force the players to use headsets, they should not be a must-have

Not everybody has a mic, and not everybody likes talking on a mic.

 

I have one, but I have yet to come across a situation so dire that an ingame message wouldn't suffice. For those of us who live in houses with other people, maybe we'd prefer to not sound like we're talking to ourselves or a TV.

Xbone and PS4 come with party chat. Use it.

Party chat can lag a game out. Its one more thing to add to connection issues. Ive had huge lag issues before, disbanded the party and then the game was fine. Obviously not an all the time thing but something to consider especially when server stability is such an issue.
