The Pacific Standard Job - First set up: Vans

Recommended Posts

  • 2 months later...

I have no idea why this one gives so many people trouble. Granted, I play with randoms (have to mostly, right now) but I have never been in this setup where it was successfully done.

Including the one time where the same two randoms kept messing it up over and over again, to the point where the laid back stoner hosting started by saying, "Don't worry dudes, this one is easy," and ended by repeatedly yelling into the mic, "This one is so f*cking easy!! HOw do you keep f*cking it up!? How?!"

Seriously, laid-back stoner to angry meth head in seven set-up failures, The host was level 200+, both guys who kept screwing up were 100+, and I was level 50 something at the time (56 with one character, 54 with the other at the moment).

After the 8th failure, he kicked everyone, and then above five minutes later, invited me to the Fleeca Job. (Which we did just fine.)

This is the easiest setup in the Pacific Heist if you and at least one other person knows how to read instructions. You and that other guy can do all the work and take the photos, while the other 2 can just goof around if they don't kill themself or alert drivers and still pass the mission.

When I've done this mission with randoms, the two main problems that they do is either get in the wrong car or drive off on their own, or the navigator in my car just doesn't give me directions at all.

of all the setups for the heists ...this one is the easiest but hardest at the same time.........if two people work together it is no problem, if all 4 work together as instructed, its the easiest money made in the game........but if you have navigators who want drive around themselves its a cluster f*ck of a mission

i have seen this fail more than any other setup, because of the Navigators jumping in a car and driving off...

^ why are you answering to the OP now?

Like I stated, I went to search for a topic related to what I was looking for instead of starting a new post. This was the closet of my search. How else should I have done this?

What you searching for? you just answered the OP's question

Non Fiction

This setup is literally the easiest out of ALL setups. I can complete this mission by myself in 5mins, seriously. The vans are always in the same place and actually the navigator should be driving while having the "driver" take the pictures

What an odd (semi-) necro bump. Usually when someone bumps an old thread to answer the OP's question, they do not notice it's an old thread. This guy is well aware it's old but he answered anyway, wtf?

Anyway, Vans? What is that? I don't remember. I must have blocked my memories of all those incredible morons that most likely kept f*cking up what is certainly a ridiculously easy mission. No wait, I read now that you just drive around and take pictures, nobody can screw that up right? Right?

Last time I tried that method, when I took pictures as driver, nothing happened. Personally, I'd just have the navigators drive themselves, and the drivers run blocker for each one. Like the navigator tails a van, the drivers follow the navigators, the van comes to a stoplight, the assigned driver blocks them off so they can't move, nav gets the picture, bam. Easy. But no one gets this.

I was going to make a thread about this very subject so thanks to somebody for digging this one up!

This setup is so poorly constructed.

One Navigator can do this entire setup themselves but as a Driver... often times you truly have nothing to do but watch the map or maybe drive around for a while.

I almost ALWAYS switch to Navigator because i know the truck locations by heart. It just seems so incredibly stupid and short sighted to spend so much time insuring 4 people HAVE to participate in a Heist or setup only to drop a Setup like this that doesn't require four people to complete and in fact renders half the team useless.

As for failures, yes I have seen those same phantom failures. Drivers failed despite doing nothing wrong, people having alerted a Truck simply by sitting in traffic.

Those failures are lame but rare.

My issue is R* giving us a level that can be incredibly confusing to first timers, especially when they are the driver and both Navigators take off leaving them to either quit level or find a way to waste 5 minutes.

They should just remove this one and replace it with a better setup mission.

What on earth are you on about?

The annoying thing is when the other Navigator hops into your car right as your about to take off. That's why I lock my Zentorno, I use it to get this setup done faster and don't want a passenger who could start firing their gun out of boredom

I woudnt complain realy.

Its better then being forced to work together.

Seriously its one of the few preps i almost dont care weither im playing with randumbs or not

Yep. This is exactly what ends up happening too, fail mission because your passenger is shooting flare gun rounds at the Truck...

goldadderXD - I don't care that it's easy for one person I care that it's confusing for others or makes people quit setup altogether because there is nothing for them to do.

Easy or not, it's stupid. One of the worst R* missions ever ever ever!

Ever had a problem with your computer and used Google to find your answer? Yeah, some of those are found in forum threads that are years old, and people post with updated information to help others solve a problem.

I'd much rather have a thread that's 10 years old, with people posting extra, helpful information sporadically than to have more and more threads being created with all the info being across several different pages.

And as that user said, he'd only been flamed for not searching in the first place, so which would you rather?

What you searching for? you just answered the OP's question

Let me guess, middle age, lives in basement, big guy, glasses and can't wait for someone to do something you don't like. I was searching for "pacific heists vans" to rant how stupid people are with this specific setup.

In that case you should've searched for 'heist stupid people' and you'd find a thread dedicated to that.

Or you could've searched for 'easily insulted dope' and you would've found yourself.

You must fit his description as well
