The Dedito Gae

worst radio station?

Recommended Posts

Lock n' Stock

I`m just replaying VC which I`ve beaten 5 times, just for the soundtrack. That and VCS, it`s insane how good the music is, it`s pretty much, "To devil with the game, I just wanna listen to this music!" LOL It`s funny and sad that they`ve stonafied the all new GTA music to the point the game is unrecognizable to those two, if you close your eyes and just listen that is. Maybe it`s my fault because I never play while stoned, am I missing out on something?

Heh, with the new Spotify app on the PS4, I've used it to play old VC songs on GTA V. So many good tunes on both those games.

"Well I love a rainy night

What a beautiful sight

I love the rain the feel on my lips"

THAT was a kickass station. I love K-ROSE.

If I had to name the worst stations - FlyLo and all the talk stations.

I liked East Los FM, honestly. As I roleplay a latino gang member, I just turned on ELFM for fun and whoa - good music there. I love that.

Vinewood Boulevard Radio - Just a bunch of lame noisy garage butt-rock with a bunch of nobodies. It's pathetic that this is supposed to be GTA V's official "modern rock" station.

Channel X - Not even music, only a wall of mindless noise. Like I said above, it's pathetic that this is supposed to be GTA V's official "hard rock" station.

East Los FM - What were they thinking when they chose these songs? Better question would be, what kind of drugs were they on?

I take it you are not a punk fan since those two stations have a punk vibe.

YA BOY DIRT

WORST radio stations:

  • Los Santos Rock Radio
  • Channel X

Absolutely disgusting excuses for "music"..... I'll never understand the love for such drivel. FlyLo FM, Radio Los Santos, Worldwide FM and Blue Ark are superior in every way.

I guess not. Though, maybe it's a good thing they don't have a proper modern rock station. If they did, they'd probably choose Nickelback or Train or some sh*t.

I used to give VBR a bad time, but that was because i only ever heard Fire Doesn't Burn and Sleepwalker. I don't like those songs, but i do like the genre, so i gave it another chance and found some great songs, like Crawling After You and This Mystic Decade. The current gen version of V added good ones, too, like Answer To Yourself. I love VBR now, my favorite station in V and one of my favorites in the series. I have always really liked Channel X, as well. I don't know if people realize this, but those two station are there to represent the classic and modern PUNK scenes of California. Not metal, not hardcore. I played a lot of Tony Hawk games, so i love this sort of punk music. It's alright if you don't like punk, but saying you think Channel X is a poor substitute for a metal station, or VBR is a poor substitute for a rock station, is way off of what Rockstar were going for with these stations.

Anyway, back on topic. As i've said before, WordWide FM is my personal worst. I originally thought Wordwide was jazz, but then i heard Earl Sweatshirt rapping... I went to the wiki to see what genre they listed it as, and it's all over the place. There's jazz and funk, cool, but then there's dubstep, post-rock and hip hop? I guess it was going for having all sorts of genres as the style, but there's no flow to it. Would have much rather had a true jazz station.

The Tony Hawk games had a way better soundtracks than those god-awful punk stations.

The Blue Ark and East Los FM from GTA:V. I cant understand Blue Ark due to their accents and i cant understand East Los due to it being in spanish. Those two channels would have been better used as a classic GTA songs type radio station instead.

Yeah, there should have been an EDM station in its place. That would have fit the feel of LS much better, and it would be much more current to what people listen to.

The Mysterious One

I don't exactly HATE or DISLIKE any of the stations in all of the games that I played, but there were stations that to which I wasn't too crazy about listening. For example, in LCS, I almost never listened to Radio Del Mundo. In some of the others, it really depended. In IV, I rarely listened to JNR. That was one station that I wasn't too crazy about, and I usually don't mind jazz music. However, I must say that SA had a lot of stations that I would listen to. Being a hip-hop/rap fan for the most part, I was right at home with Radio Los Santos and Playback, but until I played this game, I remember that I used to hate on country music a lot, although my hate for it sort of waned a bit as it grew on me a tad two years before that game came out. I found myself listening to K-Rose at times. Hell, I found "Queen of Hearts" from Juice Newton to be one of my favorite songs on that station, and I will add that because I am also a journalist, I did a story on a country pop group from my area and when I went to their rehearsal to interview them, I remember they sang "Mamma Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys." Right then and there I had a major flashback to SA.

I didn't listen to LCHC much, if at all, when I played IV and EFLC. I am not a big metal fan, although I will do Rob Zombie, old Metallica, Megadeth, etc. but not death metal or black metal. I am not that picky, though.

Channel X takes the cake here, even when accounting for the entire series.

I mean seriously, what the f*ck was all that noise? Punk? Just way too f*cking awful.

What about Wood Stations? :p

The HD Era is the only Era that I have a dislike of many of the Radio Stations.

It would be easier listing the ones I don't like.

Next-Gen version of NSP has Lorde, so that officially makes it the best station in the series, obviously.

Thank you, I must've laughed at your post for a good five minutes...

In all GTA games before GTA IV, I've never really had any least favorite radio stations. In GTA IV, some radio stations were at worst mediocre. GTA V, however, has a few radio duds:
- WorldWide FM: The music wasn't bad, mind you, but there was a LOT of wasted potential with this station. Where are the bands that are mostly remembered in other countries than in America?
- Blue Ark FM: Who thought this station was a good idea to add in the game? I don't hate reggae, but this station seems really out of place, doesn't really belong in Los Santos. If the game was set in San Fierro, Las Venturas or Vice City, maybe it would be necessary, but NOT Los Santos.
- East Los FM: Obviously, the most annoying station in the game, far worse than Bendy from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. Again, tons of wasted potential to be the best Spanish radio station in any GTA game. Why didn't they include other Latin American musicians, like Ricky Martin, Shakira, etc.? This is the station that I wish was updated in the PS4, Xbox One & PC versions.
