worst radio station?

The Dedito Gae

Recommended Posts

I've enjoyed most of the stations in the GTA series but there are a few I can't listen to ever.

- Radio del Mundo from LCS (novelty thing that's cool the first couple of times then it just grinds my gears)

- LCHC from IV (annoying as f*ck)

- East Los FM (I enjoyed Espantoso, in VCS specially, but this one - not at all)

I have never listened to Channel X but it doesn't look too appealing to me either.

MSX in III absolutely rules. Perfect music for high speed driving.

Also, Channel X. I can't even call that sh*t "music", it's just a bunch of loud noise. Who's idea was it to make it the official "hard rock station"?

I'm sure you think dubstep isn't music either.

I actually enjoy atmospheric dubstep such as Nero.

No spanish channel was added in TBoGT.

San Juan sounds was updated though.

In GTA IV:

In TBoGT and EFLC:

I didn't like The Beat 102.7 when it was updated, and the complete change to Vladivostok wasn't a good idea. :/ EFLC is great because it lets you keep IV's stations intact and listen to the new ones.

San Juan Sounds was updated in TBoGT, but the station comes from IV. The update was not a bad thing, songs were quite catchy and suit Luis' neighborhood.

I prefer the IV + dlc radio stations as some of them still make some sense at least. Vladivostok FM playing only british disco is completely stupid.

They should not have used that name. Instead they should have created a new radio station name for it. Thoughts?

FlyLo FM, sorry but I don't like most rap or dance music and both of them put together doesn't do anything for me.

It was way under-par for Flying Lotus, and he should've never attached himself to odd future. Also Soulwax and Radio Los Santos could've inherited all the tracks on FlyLo at the cost of some of their sh*ttier tracks and the game would've been better off for it.

I hated updated Radio Broker. Seriously, they chose some of the worst songs possible. It's especially bad since the original was one of my favorite stations.

East Los FM... Being as I am mexican myself, I brought it upon myself to remake it... Twice...

sorry I only listen to pre 2000's Dubstep (old genre is old)

Also MSX was a perfect station and Rise FM in both LCS and III aswell...

I loved the house music on Rise FM in LCS... No, I am not gay nor am I from Old Chicago or San Francisco's Castro District

Bottom line is, the radio stations shouldn`t just reflect the mood of the story, whatever the story. If they make every radio station in the game in a way that`s supposed to evoke a certain pessimistic Eastern European view then that`s called having tunnel vision. The stations should offer variety and an escape and be like real radio, except leaving out the time-filling stuff and keeping the good songs. The chat shows weren`t even that funny in IV, I only listened to them once and never again. Every day`s Walton & Johnson show is funnier than all the talk radio in GTA IV by a country mile. They really either dropped the ball big time or tailor made the stations for the lowest common denominator. How they could drop the ball like that after making VC the kind of game that`s good to own if only for the sounds beats the hell out of me. I guess they figured it`d be profitable regardless, just put some ragae and some garbage hip hop and cheap foreign stuff in there and the classless dolts will eat it up!

Luckily, GTA V was a step in the right direction, because it`d be hard to do outsuck GTA IV`s radio.

East Los FM... Being as I am mexican myself, I brought it upon myself to remake it... Twice...

Me and you both, like I said in one of my previous post, I am Mexican too, and I find it unbearable, I liked Espantoso, but this one... no.

But good remake... so far.

And the worst part is, is it is next to my favorite radio station in that game West Coast Classics.

lol, yea East Los FM really was f*cked up... poor track selection...

also the songs I used for my radio were all open source music, which sadly there isnt much of so I had to make do with what I had... I personally dont like the rap part...

East Los FM needs an update IMO. It's possibly the worst song selection in the series. There are some good tracks like "Fiebre de Jack" and "Pachuco", but those terrible corridos and Don Cheto's weak rap skills brings it down.

Don't forget THIS :D

In an ironic manner, sure.

That song is very annoying, I hate that song a million times more than my least favorite song on West Coast Classics (Late Night Hype).

The only song I like on that station is El Rey Y Yo, that is probably the only song that fits the theme they tried to make.

Maybe they could add some Control Machete track to East Los FM?

I thought it was gonna be a radio presenting Cipress Hill, Molotov, Coka Nostra and such, it should fit the Marabunta Grande gang, not elderly drunken mexicans.

East Los FM and FlyLo. Can't think of any from the previous eras.

Well, for GTA IV, the worst station in my opinion is everything except LRR and JNR. Those are the only stations that fits the setting. JNR, A Marbelle cruising down the Algonquin bridge... That's the life of a real man.

In GTA V... All those hipster channels, that crappy electronic channel, East Los FM, Radio X, That ganja smoking channel.. Yeah, those suck. LSRR and the Gangsta rap channels are the only good ones.
