They need to be approached by the original creators of Red Dead.

What was the name of that studio? It has something weird in the name like... a rock or a star or something like that.

Red Dead Revolver was made by the same team which made every other Red Dead game, Redemption 1 and 2. Angel Studios, now Rockstar San Diego, was developing Red Dead Revolver for Capcom, so Rockstar simply bought the studio and its work, claiming the Red Dead intellectual property from Capcom too.

I have literally said the studio had a weird name like "rock" or "star" in the title.

It was a stupid joke, I KNOW who made Red Dead as a franchise.

I know, but someone apparently didn't understand the sarcasm, so I decided to make things clear lol, I should've replied to his comment though, sorry for that.

Good it's not just Rockstar alone that makes these remakes.

It's not Rockstar at all, they're just paying Remedy to do it.

By the way, T2 doesn't mention about this agreement anywhere on their website so it looks like this could be something Rockstar does on their own which is something we didn't see for many years now.

Despite being under the T2, their publishing companies Rockstar and 2K are allowed more free reign to operate as if they are separate entities with their own unique creative direction.

I used to work for 2K and we were connected to other internal development companies whilst being publishers. Aside from being under the parent company, 2K had more or less complete reign.

I liken them to Pixar - a subsidiary that is its own entity and the parent has little to no involvement with the creative process as long as it nets them a load of cash.

I'm not really surprised they didn't mention it.

This should have been where Max Payne 3 begins! or Max should have found a new love for rest of his life in MP3 in New York's cold snowy streets....it's still possible for max payne reboot or MP4!!!
MP3 was a masterpiece for graphics/gameplay but main story line was trash for Max Payne!!!

+ I hope Remedy will focus on MP2 more than MP1! + I wish they make more missions for Mona Sax, +some flashback missions for Mona Sax can reveal more details about her past! Pls do it Sam Lake!!!

Mona Sax is my fav female character of all time! no one can take her place for me 🐐

Remedy CEO, Tero Virtala: “We’re hugely excited to be working with our partners at Rockstar Games once again for the chance to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games back to players in new ways.”

What means "in new ways" ?!

Well, you know, the games are being remade so that certainly sounds like a new way to play it and it will be completely new in the way it looks etc. :p

This is an insight to Remedy’s process for their own AAA titles, but likely to be different for Max Payne’s development.

Might not be that different for Max Payne. The first stage is done which is pretty much pitching the project and so on - that's done as R* and Remedy already secured the deal. Now remains to be seen at which stage of conceptualisation they are at - given that the agreement was signed recently I don't see them being too far into the "High Concept" stage, in case they expected R* to deny the deal.

The fact that it's a remake of an existing game will save some time, as conceptualisation will be focused on *how* to make it work and what the art style, design, etc should be. If we're to take that flow chart as gospel, could be another year or so before we hear/see more about it.

It’s safe to say Gta 6 will not be announced this year or the next. They want to at least release one yearly release even if they didn’t work on said titles. They want it to look good towards investors so they can say they’re working on multiple projects. Which they are, but aren’t due to release in another 10 years.

Could make for a nice remaster bundle if they get it out in time for the PS7 release of GTA V.

Proper development won't start before Alan Wake 2 is fully out, hopefully it doesnt get delayed

Remedy also has other titles for 2024 and 2025

Analysts are saying this remake will release in 2026 most likely...

Investor don’t care if this isn’t a R* production as long as it’s adding capital to their pockets. GSG could have done it and R* could have wrote it off like they did it too. Whispering sweet nothings to investors like they’ve done the job. Kinda like the garbage of E&E. “Oh we’re releasing the same ol sh*t guys”.

The thing about the visual appearance of any video game or graphics if you will, is exactly about making a general atmosphere and ambient where it is closely related to defining the setting, time or even the plot without telling us that in an open fashion. It's an implicit statement. So subtle, yet so strong. It's about setting that general tone or vibe much more than simply fulfilling the ' technical standards ' of the current day and age, something every developer is being rushed to do first and foremost these days, anyway. Even the companies with budgets way shorter of those with triple A ratings can easily make 'modern graphics' with ray-traced, 4K, ultra detail, whatever horse sh*t, yet, those on the opposite end with huge budgets cannot make visuals artistic and expressive enough to match or to define the time, setting and plot of the particular video game.

'Graphics' is the visual language, a cue of sorts, telling a silent story on a subconscious level. It constantly resonates with everything else. Sure, it's amazing to have both, but the one is vastly more important than the other, hence Max Payne 1 feels so amazing after more than 20 years, even tho the graphics itself looks way too obsolete. That's why GTA DE looks like a parody, despite being only few months old. The creators haven't been cued in about the visual language of the originals and have probably thought everyone will be perfectly happy with high res textures of the f*cking palm trees. That's why, ultimately, we got Vice City looking like it's being set in the year 2020. Completely wrong. In case of the remakes, technology should serve the visual style of the originals and if that's not possible, that video game should not receive the remake treatment in the first place, just because someone thinks it's cool to replace old textures with modern ones. I just hope, Remedy didn't forget those things or better yet, they know it already.

Not bad at all. At moments, it looks more like a generic fashion model than Max, but not bad at all, indeed. To be frank, we need plethora of grin animations, various ones. Would be a perfect homage to the original.

Not bad for fan made thing

I'm sure remedy and Sam Lake will give us an amazing graphics and that special dark atmosphere for MP1-2 but I hope the gameplay will be like MP3 or even better!

When they announced Alan Wake Remastered that was only listed as coming to PC and the new consoles, but it's coming to Switch, too, this year, which is about a year after release.

They remastered Alan Wake similarly to this Max Payne deal, in the sense that the development and marketing costs were paid for by Epic Games, with Remedy receiving royalties after those costs have been recouped (they haven't yet.)

Could hint at something similar happening with the Max Payne remakes.
