FWIW, Remedy's games go where who ever is funding them want it so it's not on them. They have a funding and publishing deal with Epic for two games (possibly Control 2 and Alan Wake 2), a deal with Tencent for a game, and now with R*. But R* didn't drop the DE trilogy on Steam (yet) so going of that I'd expect the remake to be RGL only. That said, it sounds like this is all very early days so it's gonna be years away still and things may change. I've heard a lot of AAA projects are getting announced this early now as the industry went through a massive hiring crisis through covid (that's still on-going, I imagine) so developers are announcing new projects very, very early into development in order to attract new developers. Times like this I wish I was on console so I didn't have to worry about this sh*t but ultrawide and high fps keep me here. Hopefully when this releases in 3-5 years R* take there head out of there ass and realize Steam is where the money is at especially with Steam Deck. Control's fantastic for two reasons, one it looks great and was one of the earliest and best examples of DLSS 2.0 and raytracing and secondly, it runs great too. It did however have a rocky start with Quantum Break as it was pretty slow even on Xbox, but patches helped too. I was too young, but i remember hearing that max payne 2 was a very heavy game for the pc's of that era. Since it's a remake, i mean, a real remake, it looks promising to see what they are going to do. Maybe a different end or: Spoiler finally tell which end was the canon, if there was one...maybe a lot of people don't know but if you played the game in the hardest difficulty Mona wouldn't die at the end. It especially helps that Remedy is in-charge and not the amateurs at War Drum/GSG. Max Payne 2 may be my all-time favourite of the series, so I'm curious to see how this will play out.
