I always offer to have the lowest amount in my crew because I don't need the money, but no you don't deserve 25% when you're getting money from all the setups and the host isn't. The host should always have the most at the end regardless of how good you claim to be.

They only deserve 0% They don't need money and shouldn't even play because they aren't a team player. They said money is worthless, only get upset because they didn't get the % they demanded. And purposely failed the heist because baby didn't get their way. You finish the job you started and you never quit. To me this isn't a player I want to play with. No matter how "good" they think they are.

I guess not many people realize that the host has to invest an amount equal to 10% of the heist's take ($12k for Fleeca Bank, $40k for Prison Break, $100k for Pacific Standard, etc.) in order to fund the heist setup. Then the host has to run through those heist setup missions for several hours without being paid a single cent while every other heist member gets paid, before finally arriving at the heist finale and then having to deal with whining about what role they get, how big of a cut they get, etc., and either the host goes through with their demands or deals with people quitting or sabotaging the heist like the OP did.

 

I've been doing "equal" 25/25/25/25 cuts so far, but all this post did was make me realize my mistake and that I should be making it 40/20/20/20, which is truly fair and equal. Randoms joining my heist have no reason to complain if they have not made any 10% investments or gone through the heist prep missions like I have. They're getting a nice shortcut to the heist finale, and they should be happy I'm not screwing them over with a <10% cut or some sh*t.

I've been the leader so far for all of the Heists with my crew and so far I've been setting it to 25% each of us. But just like you, after reading everyone's post, I too realize that I've been screwing myself by not setting it to 40/20/20/20. I already got the trophy so I no longer need to set it to 25/25/25/25. I will have to pay $100,000 for this next heist and I'm sure as hell not screwing myself over with this one. To anyone that I've been doing the Heists with so far, I'm sorry but you'll have to get a 5% less of a cut than what you have been getting so far.

All these people claiming to be "pros" in a video game need to sell their console and get a life. No one gives a f*ck how good you think you are. To me, you're just another random. Levels don't prove sh*t.

Yeah big time. I'm level 250+ and I consider myself quite tuned into this game from the obvious time I have put into the game but it didn't stop having my ass handed to me last night by a level 21. Haha. I can still occasionally f*ck up the stupidest of little things.

So I normally make the cut 40/20/20/20 like I said in here before, but I just did the last job for the second time with my crew and a new edition to my crew. We were all there for all the setups, but we had trouble getting a fourth guy this time. So in the last part we had to get a random...I was giving us all 30, and him 10. That's fair I think, honestly...they didn't do any setups at all. And I usually take 40% so it was very fair for the rest of my crew.

 

Most people bitched and left. Finally I get a guy, I try to invite him to our party chat before I go in so he could leave now if he didn't like 10%. He wouldn't join...sent him a message...didn't respond. So I go through and give him 10%...finally he responds, says he wants at least 20. So hesitantly I took 5% out of my cut and another dude's cut. Gave him 20%.

We were all wearing heavy heist gear, which is almost a necessity in that mission. He had jeans and a t-shirt. Died on the bikes three times in a row. The rest of us were fine. Finally once he drained our money down below 700k we just had to quit. Redid it, finally our fourth guy got online and he accepted 15% (Which still took %5 out of my cut but I didn't care) and we finished the job with over 1mil again.

25% is not something you SHOULD get.

 

25% is unfair towards the host, 25% is unfair towards people who played with host for more than one game, 25% is just not fair.

If you come to the last mission and ask for 25% you are out of your bloody mind, if you were playing with the host for all the missions and you are asking for 25% you are out of your bloody mind.

I pay out 20% to crew 15% to non crew which is more than fair. Non-Heist leaders are earning $80-120k for all the set up missions when the heist leader is not send doles out $40-100k to start the heist.

 

You are the very reason why most people won't play with a random person.

Holy sh*t you don't read your own comments huh? Why did you purposely botch the heist mission? Sure you asked a question after your silly rant. Should we all forget about that, just because you asked a question. Childish rants trump your silly question. 12/7 meant I spend half the time you think I do on this forum. A smart person would have caught on. Also I have only 18 days in GTA, how many do you have level 652? I'm not shooting you down, you're doing a great job at that yourself.

Your rank only goes so far. So because you're level 600+, you automatically deserve a larger cut? Don't make me laugh. Your level determines what gear and health you have, it's not a barometer for judging your payout. I don't care how "good" you are, you're flying a plane, you're doing one part of the mission. Unless you're capable of doing multiple jobs at once, you get 20%.

 

40-20-20-20 is the only reasonable cut.

Just a few basic things:

  1. A high-level player worth their salt knows that a 25% cut from a heist finale is a lion's share. Either the host forfeits the money he already put forward for starting the heist and not getting paid for setups - which he may do for friends and other nice people when he feels generous, but less likely for a random brat who thinks they deserve more than everybody else - or the cuts of other players who may be just as competent if not more so have to be reduced. Either way, if a host gives you 25% you say "thank you very much", because he gives you more than you deserve. You never demand that kind of share.
  2. If the negotiation ends with you agreeing to the offered share you do not go back on your word. If you can not agree on a share, especially if this is the case because you insist that you have to be paid better than others, you leave the heist crew and look for a host who listens to your unbased demands. Do not waste everybody's time and the host's money by failing the heist on purpose! There are no nice words to describe a person who does something like this. You agreed to the share, now do your job!
  3. Your real-life gender, position, age or wealth are completely irrelevant for the matter at hand unless you are a minor or suffer from a mental handicap that makes you unable to do relatively simple math or understand the implications thereof.

Based on these points I think I can accurately answer the initial question: yes. Yes, absolutely. And if you react to the denial of your unjustified demands the way you did you should refrain from playing with random people.

If you want to be NICE You can give 25% to everyone. If you want to be LOGICAL, leader always gets a higher cut. I laugh every time I see a fair cut across the board. And when its not people automatically leave. It's like they assume the leader will give everyone the same cut. Uhm no, leader has to put upfront the costs of the heist to begin with when your ass doesnt and get paid after each setup. Enjoy your balanced half and get over not being equal.

 

Yesterday I was leader and had the default percentages set, this guy is all "oh im waiting for him to set the prices equal" I'm like "...say what?" i set them equal.. wait for us to get into the mission, and then i left the session. Get real people. Will do it every time someones gets greedy and dumb.
