Savage,valkerie, hydra = tissue paper

Recommended Posts

The new Hydra reminds me of how somebody modded that fighter jet into GTA IV once. Look on YouTube. Maneuvers the same way.

A lot of people don't seem to realize if you just press right on the d-pad the hydra converts into regular flight mode. In regular jet mode I would say it's a nimble little fella, maybe not as fast as the later but damn close. As far as the armor on the Hydra goes it does seem a bit weak but I would say that is more for balance than anything. It does seem to take 2 stinger missiles to blow it up though. If it was too beefed up then it would be unstoppable.

If Rockstar didn't add the homing launcher, the world would be a better place.

mmm no if R* added the sniper van from the mission Caida Libre, the world would be a better place!

The homing launcher is pretty much useless now; it was lousy before (missiles rarely hitting their target even with lock ons), and now it's been nerfed even more.

Are you sure you wait to shoot untill the lock on turns red? I've hit quite a few with it already.

I can only imagine that you're using it wrong, as I think it's one of the most powerful weapons in the game.

I get a LOT of kills with it. Between that and being able to stunt to pretty much any airport building rooftop, I quite often single-handedly clear the airport of all other players.

I don't understand when people say it's not a great weapon, unless they're doing something wrong. I'm not a wizard.

These less maneuverable air craft are just useless. I think they should be armored and last some tie against enemy fire. But they get taken out easier than the old birds!

Have you tried hitting right on the d pad for the hydra? it switches the engine to the normal fighter jet.

Either that or you're lucking out and finding folks that like to fly/drive in straight lines.

I find that the lock is broken way too easily when the pilot/driver is nimble.

So you think the hydra can avoid the homing launcher if the pilot is skilled?

Can the hydra avoid the homing launcher like the lazer if your a good pilot?

yeah, easy evasion all day, i had some guy try shoot me with like10 rockets, i was so so confident i hung around just to waste his ammo/money, then he got the inevitable death from above haha ;)

I don't know...I bought it, but I haven't flown it yet.

I was letting my crew-mates fly it around.

One thing is for certain...a lot of people don't realize they're leaving the hover on when they're trying to fly that bitch.

the homing launcher can take down the lazer.

the hydra is not as fast or nimble as the lazer PERIOD.

If you are flying full speed and not trying to attack sure you probably won't get hit. try and attack some people on the ground and see how fast you come down from any half descent player with a stinger

A heavy sniper can take out a pilot in a lazer.

It's not the tool but the skill of the person using the tool.

Whether that tool is an RPG/Homing Launcher/Heavy Sniper/Mini-Gun or any aircraft.

And nowhere in my statement could anyone misconstrue that I said that Hydra was as fast as the Lazer.

It was never said nor implied.

So argue my points...don't make some up for me and argue those.

dont misundertand.

this thread is simply my frustration with how fragile these new air vehicles are to small arms fire.

what i think would make everything right as rain.

1. savage (similar bullet proof glass to the insurgent. (couple shotgun blasts or a clip or two from an assault breaks this down. also snipers break it. the savage should take 1 explosive and 2 to down it.

2.valkerie, should be same as savage

3. hyrda one rocket to down but much better protection from bullets. small arms should do almost nothing to it. even the regular snipers should do very little. heavy sniper leave it the same. 1 hit from a rocket. maybe make it so that the homing takes 1 second longer to lock on when aiming at the hydra.

4. while we are on the subject - the tank should take 1 more hit in the front and sides and 1 more hit in the back before you can take it down. it should also be more resistant to small arms.

if you disagree that is ok. be respectful about it though. I do want you to think about what these vehicles cost and their sluggishness compared to older vehicles when considering my opinion the matter.

Ok now I know that this guy dosent know what he's talking about because a good lazer pilot can avoid a homing launcher. To anyone that actually knows how to fly, can the hydra avoid them?
