a pointing finger?.. really?

How is a pointing finger suppose to help??

 

In a game that doesn't separate servers by region so there are language differences, and has more players playing without mics than any game I've ever played, how is a finger suppose to help?

 

One of the best features of gta5 is its weapon/ music wheel, could that not be used to add a whole selection of emotes that are actually useful to communicate.

 

Emotes such as..

Swat team style hand signals, when to stop, when to attack..

 

Some quick line phrases, like 'stop' ' flank left, right'

 

Using the weapon/music wheel idea, there could be like 20 + quick emotes/phrases to help us communicate if mics or language is a problem.

 

Something alone the lines of hold right d-pad + L2 to bring up the options, then pick using analog.

 

 

And before y'all attack saying 'play with friends'..that isn't always an option, and definitely not a reason not to implement this..

Pointing your finger is a secret hand signal meaning: Run into the open and shoot everything!

it can be quite effective. especially because half of the players allready does this.

just like these have a meaning:

salute: me might die today my friend.

 

Dock: look through your sniper scope!

 

airthrust: hold position! let him come to us

 

Jerk: reload!

 

East snack: AFK 5 min, hungry

What im saying, is that the pointing finger has nothing to do with the outcome of an haist as its a random animation just like the others.

When Honking your vehicle can mean differently from "Let's go!" and "Come here!" depending on the context, then why not Pointing Finger be more helpful?

 

 

Also, not everyone knows SWAT code or army code means. It's good that Rockstar make things in neutral direction like this. Not everyone is tac-force wannabe...

I would understand too.

 

There are just a lot of things you can do in the game to tell people something like "Go there/Come here/Let's go/Drive that". No need to open Interaction Menu, scroll bunch of army gesture just to tell people "Let's go".

This would be a good time to mention that flashlights do not sync properly, at least they didn't for me on ps4.

Text the targeted person with one word.

 

If the person didn't obey to your text, then don't expect them to obey to your army signal, or even your command yell on the mic.

 

 

One thing to solve this is not army hand signal. It's actually a preset chat message such as "go", "wait", "drive", etc that will appear on everyone's or selected person's screen when you send it.

I honestly think this is the best feature I've ever seen in a video game.. period.

 

It's very useful for those without mics, but I've also had a lot of funny times so far doing it in just the first Heist alone. During the setup mission where you go to the Police Station dressed as cops, as soon as we all drove back to my place.. I hit a little hill in front of my house (the one near the beach) which sent my car flying halfway up the building while the 2 cargo guys stood and watched.

 

As soon as we finally hit the ground again, they were both repeating on mic "Wooah he flew all the way up thereeeeee" while using the pointing feature halfway up the building, nothing but laughter came after that from everyone in the group. I guarantee it wouldn't be as funny if that feature wasn't implemented in this update or in the past.

I was playing this mission where you are going to steal two SUVs with my friend (we don't use mics), and she jumped in the SUV I stole instead of stealing the second one. So I jumped out of the car, pointed at the other SUV and she ran over to steal that one, so yep, pointing can be good.
