Heist failure stories

The Other Dude

The stupid CEO/MC President quit bug still present from Doomsday Heist, and now recurring in the Cayo Perico Heist, has caused me countless failures. It's nice of R* to keep some familiarity by importing bugs from old heists to the new one.

So this just happened - The Bogdan Problem (ikr?!) 3 players.

The host decides he is going to pilot the Avenger, give himself 70% and pay myself and the other randomer the 15% and go into the submarine.

I have no problem taking the minimum cut really so long as the heist is done quickly so I can move on to other things. What bugs me is when a host takes the max they can have and then taking the easiest job and they can't even do that - read on.

Myself and the other 15% take the Stromberg down and get ourselves into the sub the 70% I've no idea, I assume he has landed the Avenger and decided it would be a genius idea to take out the helicopters from the beach.

Myself and the 15% have no trouble working our way through the sub and finding Bogdan - 70% however, dies - again. i'm not sure how as the Avenger doesn't get destroyed, he dies. So I can only assume he's got out the Avenger and tried to do it on foot.

Twice this happens and I have to get on the mic to explain that he needs to stay in the Avenger and use the guns on the plane to take out the choppers.

70% seems to have listened because the next thing says "Heist Failed - The Avenger was destroyed".

This happened one more time before the host eventually left, probably because I berated him a little over the mic and probably out of shame.

Like I said, I have no problems taking the minimum cut, what I do have a problem with is being paid the minimum, given the hardest job out of the two for the host to give himself the easy task and even then STILL can't get it right.

Which brings me to a point I'm sure has been raised many times. What is an acceptable payout? My friend always says "Minium pay, minimum effort" but in GTA you con't have to accept the 15%, you can leave the job so.

Personally my %'s vary.

For Fleeca I do 60/40. The other heists it depends if I've had help with setups or not.

If I have had help with setups then around 30%, if not between 20-25%. Mates rates its either 50/50 depending how much the other friend needs money.

Do you mean the acceptable cut for sticking with it until the bitter end? That would be nearly equal split for all, plus extra 10-20% setup cost for the host.

And yes, minimum pay = minimum effort. I never ask for more than 15%, I just see what the host is willing to pay for a job well done.

If I get 15%, I will still play my part perfectly, but I expect the same from the host, and will give them sh*t if they don't. If I realize the host is a n00b and won't get the job done any time soon, I'll leave.

Pretty much, I know the topic of 'acceptable cut' varies between people.

The Doomsday Heist and Diamond Casino work differently. For me, if I had the same 2nd crew member for all the setups of DDH, I probably wouldn't split the finale 50/50 because I always play on hard and fully aware they will be getting around 30k per setup as for me I'll get the best part of zero.

On DCH however, all setups are in free roam and nobody gets any payment for them (I'm not counting Securoserv bodyguard pay). So for that finale I'd be a little more generous, but only if that player had actually helped set the heist up.

Hope this all makes sense!😅

I think what got me with the previous scenario was the host specifically chose the easy job and still failed, I would've been more lenient with him if he had gone into the submarine where it is trickier (but by no means impossible as half of it is a cutscene)

I fear fails caused by perpendicular landing is a trend we're going to start seeing.

There's this new trend among Prison Break randoms; that being, "Okay, we've escaped the prison, let's start driving South, instead of North, over to the nice big runway that is literally right next to the prison where our Pilot can land". The only reason I can gauge is due to a fail I suffered but unfortunately failed to record I was so dumbstruck. Attempt 1: Pilot thought the Velum was a jet fighter. Attempt 2: Pilot goes AFK long enough for me to do my part as Demolition, bomb the Prison and get the Prison team out before the jet phase even begins, Pilot was that slow. What followed was the Host driving the Prison Van and attempting to drive toward the Plane icon, combined with the fact that Pilot was simply heading toward the Prison Van because that's where Rashkovsky was, not trying to land. Instead, they'd gone halfway to the oil refinery when Pilot finally met up with them. This is where Pilot decided the best course of action was to immediately land the plane by landing perpendicular to the road and taxi full speed into some trees and a cliff face, exploding on impact. I quit after that.

About 7 hours later, I had ANOTHER random attempt to perpendicular land.

To make up for this: Here is ANOTHER case of randoms going south out of the Prison, that a REAL pilot knows how to handle;
