Oh. My. F*cking. God.

I'm not even gonna give you the details. Let's just call it Heist Failure Scenario #3.

Do your f*cking preps, you dribbling idiots.

Why on earth on Pac Standardard Finale you will stop and stay on foot at the crown right after the bridge at the end, so I had to swing and crash in the rocks by trying avoiding and killing YOU? Then you get butthurt when I curse at you for your imbecilic stupidity and YOU leave the game.

Morons.

Joined Casino Heist via Quick Job. Cash, Silent/Sneaky. Host was sth. about Level 250 (I am Level 300ish).  He seemed to have some knowledge, took Waste as Entry, and Waste es Exit and High Buyer.

Gave me 15%, I waited some seconds to see if he adjusts that but nothing happened. I decided to go for it. He launched the job. I spawned in his Arcade with the Gun in Hand. I was able to sprint and jump but I could not exit the building. Also I was not able to jump over the fence in the Garage...  😄

Yea... nice heist!

One thing I want to mentin: I noticed that I had weird glitch after that, because since then I could not leave my Arcade by running to the exit and press "Exit". I had to get a car and push Gas to leave my Arcade.

Joined random Casino Heist, Big Con, Host was R120, one guy was R70 and the third guy was R6. At least target was gold, so it gave me hopes Mr. Host knew what he was doing (I was sorta right). You know you are in for a trip when in the first second after everything's loaded Mr. R70 asks for 30% cut. Or maybe 25%. Or at least 20%. My brain exploded and I told Mr. Host that if it was me, I'm canceling this Heist right now. But of course, I'm mean spirited and Mr. Host was kind-hearted, so he gave all of us 20%. I'm in a trap now, I need to work. Miraculously we get in the vault without an accident, except the part where Mr. R6 got lost around the elevator. Entering the vault Everybody went straight to hack. I do my door in few seconds and what do I see... everybody else is still hacking... Mr. Host manages to open one door after some more struggle, but Mr. R6 was just hacking and hacking. Mr. R70 was looting. He started to squeal that we must restart. Mr. Host then stayed a bit too long and triggered the alarm, so I was like "What the hell, let's restart". Mr. Host was perplexed why would we kill ourselves. I explained. Almost saw a light bulb going on over his character's head. Second try - I explicitly tell Mr. R6 not to hack. Mr. R70 squealed that he can hack too. Told him to loot and let me and Mr. Host to do the hacking. All was going well until Mr. R6 decided to try his skills again and triggered the alarm. Third try: after a wall of text by yours truly, we somehow managed to loot all but one crate and I decided screw it, not gonna restart again.

We got glitched guards (the ones that stay in one place), but the route to the boiler room was easy to navigate (right from the elevator was open), guard is standing there, I am right in front of him raising my gun to slam it in his face... and Mr. R6 shoots him. I scold at him and told him not to shoot, just walk behind us. Next try, we get to the boiler room and change clothes. Till I realized Mr. R6 got lost, bumped into a guard and triggered the alarm. Great. I write to him again, he replays in Czech that we were going too fast (luckily I can understand a little bit of this language). This time something bugged and Mr. Host triggered the alarm. Next try, Mr. R70 decided that the noose outfits we had glitched on us when changed are not glitched and triggered the alarm when he was running around the boiler room. I told him what's the story, he was baffled that such a thing can happen in GTA5 (I was not). We get to the boiler room again and change. All of us except Mr. R6. Took us around two minutes of pointing to where his outfit was and writing "t-shirt icon - change outfit". He finally warmed and changed. I yelled at everybody "DON'T BUMP INTO THE GUARDS!" Imagine my surprise when they did NOT bumped into any guard. I write "Now everybody after me".

Casino exit successful.

Outside it went smooth, went pass the guards, I got a 4 door car and here the question emerged: "We go for the chopper now or tunnel?" The smart guy that I am I was like "Naaah, let's not push it - tunnel it is!" So we cruised to Paleto while Mr. R70 squealed non-stop how easy it is making money with Casino Heists and what a good team we are.

I dashed my game right after the money transaction was over.

Hardest earned 310k in my career.

Still sweating.

@partci haha dude how can you not be tired of this? I wished we met in a casino heist by chance. Are you playing on PC?

But actually those stories are what keep me from joining random heists. It is mostly waste of time.

@Nog actually I am lazy doing my casino preps, so I am suffering for your entertainment with stories like these (on PC, yes). Used to have a lot of friends that were doing casino all the time so I was basically making my money with them, with me inviting them in between, but (ironically) the most persistent of them got full reset during the last apartment glitching, the other ones got bored and stopped playing and our network went down. Now I am basically playing for... err... pleasure and to pass time. Joining random heists can be extremely entertaining of frustrating, or both. I am trying to be in the mood for the first (as was the case with the story above).

I was in the mood to just help someone out doing the Casino Heist, so i just launched up on-call. I ended up with the pretty standard Gruppe Sechs set up. Didn't get to see the planning board though (weird connection glitch or something) but didn't care, just pressed ready anyway. When i load in it's just me and the host. I play along.

When we get to the vault undetected, turns out it's art we are stealing. Easy. Steal it all with time to spare. Run out the way we came, we sneak past guards and grab the outfits and escape without anyone having a clue we were even there. No one died, no restarts either. First attempt with a random player. On our getaway I am just riding as a passenger and decide to give this player a good commendation, cause why the heck not... All of a sudden the screen turns black and I see unable to connect to rockstar servers in the message.

I ended up sending this player a message, and apologized and told him how it was a real smooth run. Then, while i was sitting in story mode as michael I see an invite pop up for the same heist that he sent. I joined again and all went pretty much the same (took a few seconds longer to loot but still really smooth. Ended up completing it that time no errors.

Now I know its the failure stories thread but I just had to end it on a happier note.

Act 3 with 3 randoms (2 under level 100) should've been a giant red flag to back out but I went with it just to see how bad they were...

First, the 271 host was MC and not CEO, meaning that we lost the health regen bonus. rip snacks

Second, host kept blaming their controller while subsequently being as useful as a trashcan (got 3 kills aka did nothing). You're playing on pc mate, use your goddamn mouse and keyboard then.

Third, running face first into the juggernauts is a literal death wish, and randoms don't understand cover. Yeah....

Didn't even make it to the hacking part of the heist. 20 minutes down the drain and 0 snacks. Wheeee.

I was even a cause of that yesterday, shamefully admitting.

Hadn't done Diamond Heist Silent Approach ever, joined a really competent guy.

Connection laggy as hell.

Cash vault was new to me. He said there was no way i wasn't trolling him. Tried to explain calmly, got the cash. Fine with that. Approached gold vault, he hacked, i collected, E C D, all smooth, exited at 15 secs. Got the cash again.

Exited the casino, followed him without killing anyone, he just whacked a cop. Entered the car. Ducked. Car swerves right, stops. I'm waiting.

"COME!!!"

"WHERE TO"

"Ok fine, i'm leaving"

The lag made the car stop with me right between the cops. They proceed to shoot me to death. Dude leaves.

Wrote a PM to him with excuse, sincere gratitude for explaining the heist and wishing him a less laggy heistmate.

What a joyful S&S Casino Heist this morning... first, Host has his Arcade in Paleto, so he assigned the heli for entrance, but the third guy was non stop yapping ASSIGN STAFF LOBBY, ASSIGN STAFF LOBBY, ASSIGN STAFF LOBBY. Host assigns staff lobby. Then we start, both of them are waiting for me to drive. I told them "Guys, for 15% cut I ain't driving from Paleto". I didn't, Host did, while third guy NEVER SHUT UP how he will lead, cause he's so good and he'll take us out with a heli (WOW!!!). We enter the casino, he blows the first camera when it didn't needed cause of the guards configuration, then he goes to kill the two guys near the elevator and triggers the alarm, cause they are bugged and more often than not they do trigger the alarm. He starts yapping again.

Second try, I was collecting the daily, went down the stairs, getting out of the stairs the guard that comes out from the vault pops in a way I can't deal with him and he sees me, alarm gets triggered, third guy starts yapping for something, I ask him why is this guy not dead yet, he said he forgot which route the said guard takes... :sui:

Third try: we get down to the vault, I was carefully going around him, trying to fill holes that he was leaving. He decides to write us and ask who's the better hacker. I told him where am I supposed to know if the Host can hack, I can hack just fine. HOW FAST, TO THE SECOND(!), CAN I HACK??? I told him not to worry, I can hack just fine. Guards see him and the alarm gets triggered. I am to blame cause I wrote him and he had to answer to me IMMEDIATELY, despite being right between the guards and asking stupid questions and demanding answers. :sui:

Fourth try: we manage to empty the entire vault while he was constantly writing some instructions of how to deal with the hacks and who to do what. I'm now bored and irritated out of my tits. Outside of the vault he's killing all the guards cause "HE HATES THE GUARDS!" slowing us down significantly. I'm so bored already I forgot to tease the camera at the stairs initially and perhaps I've triggered the alarm, I don't know, cause I play without a sound sometimes and this was one of those cases (can't stand listening to Lester all the time). No one alerts me that the alarm is triggered till we get upstairs and I see third guy killing guards left and right. No one says nothing about restart so I play along - don't have the strength for another one...

Out of the casino me and the host are going for the tracks while third guy is screaming "AFTER ME, NOT THIS WAY!!!" - he gets killed. I point to him that when the alarm is triggered you go through the tracks, and not around them "Oh, I forgot"... :sui:

Restart: he gets killed cause he was going mid-tracks and not at the edge, hence he got hoarded. It's my fault cause I've triggered the alarm. :sui:

Finally we get to the heli and end this FN HELL for good.

A great way to start my morning. :sui:

Not sure if you can label this as a failure but still.

Last night me and my buddies were doing Casino Heist and the host was having problems, he invited us, we joined and he got kicked and the game made me a host of the heist, we knew it wouldn't work but we went for it anyway and I invited them and I launched his heist, when we got the planning board, it was empty and I was able to change some invisible settings in there before the game crashed lol

So I joined an Aggressive Casino heist (random 4 man crew) because what could possibly go wrong? Let's see:

- Entrance: Staff lobby. Everyone should know by now to take Sewer with randoms. And if you don't, at least take Main Entrance for the cutscene.

- Gunman: Chester McCoy, so we get to reload all the time

- Outfits: host had sourced the Reinforced Armor (it was selected at the beginning), then host selected the non-reinforced armor. Like, why do you even source reinforced armor if you don't plan to use it?

Naturally, my in-game chat was not working at that point, and the mission started with the wrong outfits.

- Host had done Level 2 keycards and completed Duggan Shipments thankfully, but still 2 people managed to die within 20 seconds of entering the Staff Lobby (where we entered), before even getting into the staircase. Mission failed. I had seen enough red flags, said something about poor setup choices and left.

At least he had the Vinewood arcade.

People, please - stop paying for the clean getaway vehicle if you're not going to use it. No one uses it. Even on those rare-as-hen's-teeth occasions where it actually spawns somewhere useful, players just drive right past it.

Also, the Rune Zhaba - it's not pretty but at least it drives like sh*t. More importantly, please stop taking it down the sewer tunnel. It won't fit. Yeah, I know it's bulletproof, but you're not outrunning a wet fart in it.

F*ck it - while I'm on it, here's a whole list of "Sh*t Hosts Do That Are a Waste of All of Our Time and/or Money"

Decoy gunman - takes 1 star off you. Makes very little difference on Aggressive, for the other two approaches you shouldn't even be under fire when you exit the casino, and since you can get to the getaway cars without alerting the cops in both cases, you dont need the Decoy.

Buyer - stop choosing anything but High level. You're just flushing hundreds of thousands so you can, what, save 3 or 4 minutes of driving time?

Preps - look, I could write a thesis on how badly you're shooting yourself in the foot by skipping optional preps, but if I had to pick one above all it would be L2 Keycards. The prep takes 5 minutes and saves you at least that much time during the heist - not to mention headaches. Plus I've seen so many runs fail at that first hack that I've taken to quitting right then and there.

Approach/Entry - Aggressive: Sewers. Big Con: Gruppe6 in, Noose out. Silent & Sneaky: Staff Door. Any other way is wrong. If you don't have them, repeat the Scope Out mission and get them.

Weapons - For BC & S&S, you don't need them (not counting for the random idiot factor, of course). For Aggressive, you do. Pro tip - scour the Earth for the Packie McCreary event. Dude gives you Combat MG's ffs - coupled with a fully completed Duggan shipment prep (which you should absolutely be doing for Agg approach) you go through the guards & cops like a bad curry.

EMP - use it as you leave the mantrap. You can get all the way to the Staff Door before it ends. Also, if you went to the trouble of getting it, friggin' use it. Related - if you're going to get (and use) the the EMP, get the f*cking infiltration suits. You skip one, you may as well skip the other.

Daily take - if you're only paying 15%, then the daily take isn't worth the effort to me. I don't care how long you stand on that button, it's 15 grand, tops, and usually way less. I can make more than that falling out of bed.

Hacks - not so much a host-only thing, but if you aren't good at hacking, don't start one. As in, if you can't get thru a fingerprint in 4-5 seconds, just go for the tables & let someone else hack. Cannot count the millions I've seen left behind because you thought you were Mr Robot. If you want to practice, bite the bullet and shell out for the practice keypad at your Arcade.

Cuts - you get what you pay for. 85% of zero is zero. And don't give me the weeping about prep missions - you can't solo the heist (for now), so you need me more than I need you. Recognise.

Paleto - No.

Security Intel - I know the Casino Missions suck all the balls. But you you only have to do them once, and you only have to do the Sec Intel prep once. Then it's done forever. Before you start whining about the cost of the Penthouse, you only need the most basic version - with the various bonuses associated with completing the Casino Missions first time around, the basic Penthouse is practically free.

Sewer Tunnel vs Chopper - Tunnel loses less cash than the Chopper. Chopper is faster than the Tunnel.

Crew Size - Artwork: 2. Gold: 3. Cash/Diamonds: 4. This is The Way.

That's all I've got off the top of my head, but the very fact that there are this many speaks volumes.

I've got 5 days left in Los Santos. Let's try to minimise the apoplexies for old God-eater this week, eh?

I never had problems with the cheapest guy (have in mind I'm doing almost all of the other preps).

I'll chime in and add couple of things for Aggressive:

  • one really important thing to note: try to always combine it with Artwork - Cash is slow to pick up while you have less time in the vault and Gold slows your running even more.
  • I go out of my way to escape through tunnel on Aggressive. You are constantly under fire, no need to lose more cash by circling for the heli. You won't get this Elite anyway, so don't expect me sitting and hitting 80 headshots for 100k that I won't see anyway, cause I play on PC.

@partci fair point about Firefighters outfits.

In return, here's a sneaky trick to get around cash as the take: Scope the vault contents - get cash - exit cameras - call Lester immediately and cancel heist - go back to Arcade - board will show something other than cash.

Pretty sure that would be considered an exploit, but it seems to be one of those ones that R* can't do anything about - you know sure as sh*t that if they could they'd have done it by now.

As far as weapons on Aggressive, you don't need the Combat MG's, but they make the extry/exit total cake, and the extra range & damage is particularly helpful once you get outside (not to mention the money you don't lose during reloads). For once, we are the OP death machines. Worth every penny of that 3%, in my opinion.

There is one exception for the L2 key cards though. You don’t really need them for big con/gruppe sechs. You should only need to hack exactly one door on your way out.

In a perfect world, you're right. With randoms, you want to minimise the opportunitues for the team to screw up - including the ADHD factor that kicks in when many players experience more than 2.7 seconds of downtime. Plus, fuuuuuuck that dot hack - we're talking about people who take 15 mins to do the Fleeca hack; this one is so far out of their league that it's not even the same sport. I maintain you're much better off doing L2's and eliminating the issue completely.

Nah, you have the option to cancel the heist. It's a shortcut and really only saves you some time.

I don't think we're talking about the same thing. I don't mean cancel it and try again, I mean cancel it right after scoping cash while you're in the casino. The heist won't cancel, and when you go back to your board it'll show you now have gold/art/diamonds as the score.

Yes, I am talking about the same thing.

Edit: how can you fail Humane Labs: Insurgents 2 times in a row with a 2 different crews? How can someone die THREE TIMES during this prep, where you are first in a Kuruma and then in an, well Insurgent??? One would say that GTA-O have a FN imbecilic player base.

I see where you are coming from.

I do still think it’s manageable with randoms. I have been able to be at the door first most of the times.

Also a side note, the level 2 doors are fingerprints not dots.

True, albeit a 4-stage one. Brings in the impatience factor (more than once I've watched in horror as some kid off their meds fires their gun, or starts running around & gets spotted, or starts banging cymbals together screaming "here we are!"). Not to mention if the hacker is unskilled, you can be standing there like idiots for several minutes with no result (eg once I saw a dude spend over 5 minutes on that hack, give up & quit the heist out of frustration/shame). Lastly, I very, very rarely do that hack, my attitude being that if the host chooses for that door to be hacked, they can bloody well do the hack themselves.

But if you're going to get L1 Keycards, you may as well do L2 - not like it takes a great deal more effort. Spend a minute dancing, molest an unconscious person (how THAT does not freak out everyone at the the party I do not know), casino doors become a non-issue.

I'm that weird kind of lazy where I'll work very hard to make things as easy as possible lol.

Casino heist on hard, Big con, target: gold. This random guy and I had been helping each other do sales, missions etc, so after we had sold everything I invited him to my heist. Because the target was gold, I knew we needed another grab man. In comes the random we tell him to hang back and just grab and follow us out easy payday. Everything went great until the helicopter, random gets in the pilot seat and we take off, so far no issues... that is until he thought it’d be cool to fly the heli under the bridge by zancudo. This f&$&ing guy crashes the helicopter into the bridge and blows us up, we had the full take and hadn’t been spotted, he failed at getting us to the drop off. FML

The Other Dude

What's with morons kicking you out the pilot or driver's seat of getaway vehicles during the casino heists?

I had this idiot do that to me that when I picked him up in the getaway car and the chopper. He promptly crashed after trying to steady the landing to pick me back up.

This f&$&ing guy crashes the helicopter into the bridge and blows us up, we had the full take and hadn’t been spotted, he failed at getting us to the drop off. FML

If you are playing on PC it doesn't really matter. At least 8 out of 10 heists the Elite won't actually transact you the extra 100k. Still R* patches and bans when players are using glitches to make money, but to fix something that you actually earned and never got - naah.

Spoiler

Also, do NOT take Chester McCoy as gunman, take Gustavo Mota instead. You may run out of ammo on Aggressive, and you only need the special ammo if you skipped Duggan Shipments.

Well, about time I contributed an actual failure story. It's a DCH, tho, so it's boring and typical.

S&S, cash. My first warning was every crew member bar me being sub-50. Second warning was Paleto launch. Third was one of the ADHD kids in the car shooting at passing cars the entire drive down. Did I heed those warnings? Of course not, fool that I am - plus the host gave 20% cuts so in keeping with my own creed I must see it thru.

We get to the Casino. Lester informs us that we'll be hacking the doors because the host has, of course, skipped the Security Passes prep. That was hardly the biggest concern because Lester then told us the guards were onto us. We haven't even walked in the f*cking door yet and one of these idiots has blown it.

It was too much. I quietly and respectfully told my ethics to go and f*ck themselves, jogged down to the freeway and dove under a speeding car. Twice.

Yeah, yeah, I know, poor form; but the way I look at it, this run was doomed, so I'm just saving myself some time.

So, I just joined a Silent&Sneaky Casino heist on call. 4 players, target cash, staff lobby in and out, we all readied up for 15%, fine with me. Then the host selects the mid-level buyer and launches the job before I can un-ready. We spawn outside the Paleto arcade, and my game crashes to desktop. Thanks a lot Rockstar. You saved me from myself this time.

Next try: kicked from the job. Spawn at Paleto arcade. Nice. That host did me a favour.
