What is "taking it too far"?

Recommended Posts

FreakshowMC

In my time playing GTA Online I've had a lot of negative experiences with other players who take the game *way* too far, especially as a player in the growing motorcycle club community. As the current president of my own club I've still got the national president of my first club (who won't be named, I left to do my own thing because as the vice president of one of the chapters of his club I wasn't happy with the way he was running things.) "out to get me" and most recently I've got my former vice president and his non mc crew trying to get me to fight with them at three in the morning (funny story, just this morning he tried calling me out because I went into passive in a lobby just long enough to drive my new bike to the shop to buy insurance without it getting blown up by a griefer and he must have stalked me and saw it).

What experiences have you guys had with players who take the game too seriously or take "beef" too far? Or if you haven't had any experiences like this, what in your opinion IS "taking it too far/too seriously"?

Soran Is On

On Xbox 360 I'd save messages from people that beaked at me so I could come assault them days or even weeks later.

Xbox made stalking pretty easy. Now if I want to do that they need to be in an open crew so I can join and track them down through thier crew as a double agent.

I only ever did that to the most loud mouthed assholes to be fair.

Hypocritical thread is hypocritical.

-Virtual Mc club Vp

-Leaves to start own chapter and is now in a virtual beef with previous club

-Posts on forum about this experience in the wrong section to get other hypocritical members to post similar experinces/examples.

This thread is taking things too far

HelloMyNameIs...

Someone told me that they are gonna track me down and kill me by shooting me in head with their rifle. He claimed that he had my address. Well.......one year later........people are too cute in the online world. :)

Oh and he was also gonna slit my throat. :) I love the GTA community. :)

The fact that you consider yourself a president of a club in a video game is evidence enough that you yourself are taking it too far.

In response to everyone above, nobody forced you to comment here but I appreciate your two cents. Also, motorcycle club crews are meant to be taken to an extent of seriousness just not *too* serious. Some people take their gaming more seriously than others, I'm one of those people. I don't take it *too* seriously though lol

Dude.. thats a sweet patch.

Ride on!

Thank you!

LOL @ all the stalkers hating on this thread.

But seriously, I've had idiots join my crew just to get a kill on me and they get more pissed when they find out I don't even remember killing them in a public lobby. I have a frenemy that does some creepy sh*t to prove she's better than me, like trying to steal my crew members. I say by all means if they can be had, she's just doing me a big favor. Some guy or girl (we couldn't tell by the voice) actually stalked me because of my stats.

Yeah you don't need or want any members who are that easily swayed, if they're willing enough to let themselves be poached then just let them go. It's only a game, nobody is irreplaceable ya know? People are ridiculous.

When you think your "MC" in a video game is real.

Where did I say that my crew in GTA Online is "real"? Motorcycle Club themed crews are meant for players who enjoy taking their gaming a little bit more seriously than others, if you're not one of those players that's fine but don't talk sh*t aha

Wish I could do this on PS4 to some really annoying people who piss off a whole lobby, or something similar.

I'm still holding a grudge from 2013, if I ever see a player with the PSN 'Tetris' then I'm going to drop whatever I'm doing and go after them. That's pretty extreme, I never bothered to message them or anything though I just mentally filed the name away.

Shame as Tetris the game is great.

So because I refer to my online crew as a motorcycle club, which within the context of the game it is, I obviously take things too seriously? lol I was never looking for an argument but if I was you wouldn't have one.

The extent that you're responding to everyone who doesn't agree with your PoV is what I'd consider taking things too far. Do you really feel the need to defend your imaginary mc that badly to a bunch of faceless forum goers?
