What heist must be completed to unlock the savage?

I'm really wondering about this as well. I've only got roughly 3.6 million to spend, so I don't want to buy the Hydra now (even though I've unlocked it), if I can soon unlock the Savage and buy that for 3.5 million or something. The Savage seems superior to the Hydra.

I've tried googling the Savage, but no one seems to know what missions must be done to unlock it. No one knows the cost either, apparently ...

I just completed the Humane Raid, and I'm currently waiting for an invite to the fourth heist.

People have been saying 1.95 Mil. I can find the price with ease, but finding the heist is seemingly impossible.

As far as I know the only way to use the Savage is making a deathmatch with it and flying it there. By the way the Hydra is most definitely superior to the Savage. Had a bunch of Savage pilots (6 I think) fight one Hydra (a semi skilled pilot) and he downed all 6 Savages with ease. He only went down when I cannoned him with another Hydra.

I am on the fourth heist and have seen nothing about it in the planning. I guess it's a prep mission for the last heist.

What console are you on?

Hmm. Interesting. I thought the Savage would be superior, due to its extremely high missile firing rate (compared to Hydra, Buzzard, Lazer, etc.). On PS3, you can hold the firing button down, and shoot rockets indefinitely with the Savage. That doesn't work with the other missile-firing aircraft.

The savage has an explosive canon on it like the lazer and hydra. The hydra sucks

That's because people think hydra's hover is for attacking when it should only be used only to takeoff and landing. Thinking it as a chopper is nonsense.

The savage is from the last heist (pacific standard), after the 4th or 5th setup mission. You have to attack a convoy that is guarded by one of them, after that mission its unlocked. It costs 1.9 million dollars, well worth it IMO. It's only downside is its low armor (seems a bit weaker than the buzzard) and it doesn't climb as well as other choppers. It has the same miniguns as jets do, which means it OWNS players that are on foot. A second or two of solid fire will also take out an insurgent, which is great considering there are groups patrolling around in insurgent pickups. The 2nd seat can take control of the rockets like they can in the buzzard.

I don't own a hydra, but I would warn against buying it. It's essentially just a lazer, and from what I hear it's difficult to aim in certain situations. 3 million dollars is a bit much for something that can basically be stolen for free. The savage is also better at killing players, because the pilot can control the miniguns and the passenger can fire rockets.

I don't own a valkyrie either, but unless it can take multiple rocket hits like it did in the humane labs heist, I wouldn't buy it. The second someone sees a chopper with 2+ people, they instantly try to shoot it down. For some stupid reason, the homing launcher NEVER misses against helicopters, no matter how hard you try. If it were 1.5 million or so I would consider it, but 2.8 million for what is essentially a flying target? No thanks.

You might need to explain the steps needed to make the rockets functional for the copilot, as my friends have claimed no ability to operate them when in the secondary seat of the Savage.

They've tried right on the D-pad and 'X', though the traditional methods don't seem to work.

Actually it is possable to dodge them just hard, its all about timing. what you gotta do is immediately after they lock on to you press lb/r1 to turn left as you are pulling the joystick left and you can dodge em, also hold the raise altitude button, dosent work 100 percent of the time but it works

This thread has been dead since 2015, it's unlikely the OP will respond. Thanks.
