Hydra in freemode video.

I started a thread with this video but have no idea where it ended up.

 

 

Eta- i made this video for those curious about its role in freemode. This is, hands down, the best weapon in the game... the flare gun is second.

Seems like anyone with a homing missile launcher would have taken you down pretty easily...

There is about eight seconds from hovering to jet mode that it is vulnerable to Homers. i got shot down a few times but i was able to eject all but one time. A couple times i took some minigun fire and was able to ditch the plane and parachute directly to the new one i ordered. i think it's a fast as the Lazer and easier to fly during low speed gun runs.

Just unlocked it, it's not about ownage, you still need a strip to be delivered, sluggish on hover, but for god sake it's the best thing that ever happened to this game, it looks like a god damned spaceship landing!

 

Guardian is sh*t, insurgent is sh*t, valkyrie is sh*t and this is a beast, game over man. The mission which unlocks it, goosebumps.

 

They shouldn't have selected danger zone as soundtrack but apollo 11 theme instead.

Just unlocked it, it's not about ownage, you still need a strip to be delivered, sluggish on hover, but for god sake it's the best thing that ever happened to this game, it looks like a god damned spaceship landing!

 

Guardian is sh*t, insurgent is sh*t, valkyrie is sh*t and this is a beast, game over man. The mission which unlocks it, goosebumps.

My only issue with this & adding a Hydra anyway, is that is promotes more spawn killing in freemode, & less of the fun stuff.

 

To me, those 3 vehicles have more potential to cause hilarious moments in freemode (Especially the Valkyrie) than the Hydra, although I can already imagine some sweet stunts onto hovering hydras.

 

The first thing I think of with the Valkyrie is the hilarity of when it takes damage & all the dudes bail out trying to parachute to safety like they do in Battlefield haha, looks like mice scattering.

well , hover mode can't " brake " , which is why don't go too fast when flying around skyscrapers , bridges and mountains

I haven't had enough time to run through heists yet so hopefully better luck tonight with no disconnections and stuff.

It shakes too much and the turret is sluggish and slow no matter how far is your aim sensitivity, it's very good for accurate shots when stopped but moving only if the driver keep it steady on a paved road.

It's really annoying that the Hydra has a tailpipe. The thrust exhaust is supposed to come out the vectoring nozzles on the sides. But I suppose anything is possible in the world of GTA

^^^you're right. I'd buy it more if the rear exhaust showed the appropriate vector for hovering. Ie. The x35 with the vectored thrust.

No way. If i see spinny things on my radar, I'm already in jet mode and impervious to homing missles and surely a choppers chase. Whereas, a chopper can only evade a well planned homing missle by going passive.
