I'm not defending rockstar but I don't think the bugs and server issues have anything to do with the delays. These server issues are unavoidable. You just can't spend the money on infrastructure just for one day of mass traffic. Also, you can't really test for all the bugs in a game like this. There are just so many people doing so many things, no amount of delays is going to find them all. Only a mass test can point them out. That's why major multiplayer games do "betas". They are testing their servers and code for any game breakers that can be fixed with a day 1 patch.

Yeap. Server issues were almost guaranteed. Remember when GTA V launched online in Ps3. That was mental. Its the huge demand that's causing the issue.

As far as the bugs.. yeah sure, I'd expect a few bugs here n there but nothing as significant as whats happenings, Almost game breaking for some. Also, its not just some minor bug, most, if not all gamers are getting these bugs.

I'm just wondering how this went past their QA? What about the early reviewers? Did they get a different version?

I wish Rockstar would pull its cock out of GTA Online's butt for once and repair the damage that has been done to SP. I mean c'mon, they could at least release an article, noting what's wrong in SP and that they're working to fix it, but no, they won't.

Me personally, I'm not complaining about server issues, even the fact that it has a few bugs. That's understandable.

What me and many others are confused about is how the sheer number of glitches and bugs, many of them immersion or game-breaking, were able to make it past the testing phases.

This doesn't shock me at all. Is it right? No, they've had a year and a half to get it right if not more time. But it doesn't surprise me in the least

Hey, it's not like they made $1 billion in profits on GTAV so they could afford new servers ...

Is this the right place to post this open message to Rockstar?

It almost seems that they used a completely different team from the ones who developed the base game to develop the heists.

thats true because the Rockstar North main team are working on other games now ( GTA V SP DLC , Agent? ) and with other Rockstar studios altogether ( red dead 3, bully 2 ) i think

Btw theres a extra team for Grand Theft Auto Online now

Sad to read about all the current SP issues out there.

Rockstar should really learn now to release their MMO world from the SP game separate and not all together in the future games, so that we can get a polished and stable SP game and can happily avoid the updates without having to worry about making a mess of our offline experience on each update. Heists are released but they offer nothing to improve the SP game, by earning any offline heists, nor anything gameplay-wise, or improving the replay factor in any way. Yeah, only handing out some freebies to the SP game but these should be available to us without requiring to download the entire 4 GB plus of an update. It really makes no sense to me. Rockstar still seems quite happy to give all the extra time in offering everything they could to make the MMO game better but when it comes to give some of the extra time on a game we PAID for and that is already having important gameplay related issues, keeps getting postponed as if the SP game is secondary to the MMO game.

Reminds me about a lot of the developers of Dayz, the way in which they kept on adding, and adding stuff to the game ever since the early access began, and simply ignore all the comments from the people about sorting out the main issues what they're already facing and which has totally stopped them from even playing the game, instead off throwing out pointless content on each update. Now imagine the condition with the SP experience and if it were to feature alongside the multiplayer.

Seems a lot like Rockstar doing the same as well, a multinational company, after its enormous success in making millions from the fans, seems completely fine with such a mess of a release that they are happy to postpone the SP game as long as it means keeping the MMO running better and stable on each update.

I´m affraid a polished and stable SP isn´t their main target anymore. Online is a big success for them, so it will be their main focus now and in the future (for example, you ask them a question about SP related problems and their answer is about Online).

They can concentrate on their precious GTA Online because they don´t have to worry about their future sales. They know that millions of people will buy a GTA game just because of the name or because a half-assed GTA SP is still more fun than the SPs of other games. After the SP made them a lot of money, they aren´t interested in people playing SP. They want them to jump into Online, to make them more money. The majority will do so. In comparison to these millions the few people that won´t buy future GTA games because of this focus on Online, they are negligible for R*.

Objectively speaking, it makes sense. They´re a company and not our gaming buddies. Their main target is to make as much money as possible and not to maximise the SP experience of their long time fans.

I see a lot of big words from the people on here about how sh*tty it is, but the fact of the matter is that you're all bark and no bite. You'll still download the updates and play the game.

Exactly what im saying. I expected day one issues, but these clowns that wanna complain like lil kids talking about "I told you so" STFU the update is awesome it just don't work proper yet.

How can it be awesome if it doesn't work properly yet? Take C* dick out of your mouth before speaking, please.

I quite liked the argument that the heists were delayed because Rockstar were fine tuning them, polishing them to ensure the heists are bug free etc by R* fans.

So, how did that work out?

I hope that Rockstar would be more like BlackBox (which is now closed , unfortunately). They actually had a solid community while developing Need for Speed World.

I still remember , back in 2010 , while I was playing the beta they were so comunicative. They were aware of the game's problems. I loved those posts about patch notes which included all the crazy glitches that have been fixed.

BlackBox was probably the opposite of Rockstar when it came to communication with the community.

Well, they made sure they will work fine for the GTA Online community. Who cares if the update f*cks up the SP? If people are still playing SP, it´s their own fault. GTA Online is the place to be.

Well, I´d rather let it be.

I don't get why GTA Online is treated like it is GTA V. It's not, GTA Online is nothing more than V's multiplayer component.

GTA V should be the main focus and should be the game receiving content updates. Hell, the "GTA Online" heist update is actually for GTA V but, all the content is locked to Online only. So if you only play SP, your're sh*t out of luck.

They've already abandoned GTAV if you haven't noticed.. Atleast until the SP story DLC which isn't likely to be out for at least half a year.

I fail to see what they've 'earned' through GTA online apart from the cards that some people will have bought. Every DLC has been free. Your point doesn't really make much sense

Chief theef

I would like to know.... how many more people would complain if R* actually supported the SP more than Online. "Omg c* such an illegitimate company, dey care too much about SP" Ya see, its kind of pick your poison for them. At least they do care about Online. They could be neglecting that part of the game if they wanted to. But there would be an even larger group of complainers than there are ppl complaining about SP.
