Mounted Gun Vehicles unavailable in Garage?

Recommended Posts

I was really happy to wake up and find that the GTA Online Heists were live, but something about it really bothered me, one of the things that I was hoping would be included the most...

The fact that the two new ground vehicles that featured on-board machine guns cannot be stored in your garage or customised upset me, because I was looking forward to owning my own custom Insurgent with its epic machine-gun, going around and doing what I do, but all I can do with it now is call it from Pegasus and get it in a horrible green... It's really disappointing to see, as the car has potential, and is really fun to use, but Rockstar have once again not allowed us, the players, to fully utilise a really cool vehicle. Additionally, before anyone says "Maybe it would be too overpowered", have you tried the new Savage helicopter? It has a cannon for a machine gun, and can continuously fire rockets from it's four rocket pods. Furthermore, wouldn't it be even more OP if it can be called at virtually any point, at no cost to the player after it has been purchased? Rockstar really need to consider changing this, because I, along with a lot of other people, think its pathetic that we can't save the better version of the insurgent, whist we can customise and save the covered version, in our garages. But of course, you're all entitled to your opinions on this, and post your thoughts in the comments, but if you think the same as me, do like the stunting community did, and flood the Heist comments section with something like "Let us save the Insurgent Pick-Up and Technical in our garages", like a lot of others, and we may be able to get our message through to them. Thanks for reading! If you agree, please like this post, because if there is enough support, in numbers, we may be able to make this a reality, and improve everyone's Heists experience.

This is an issue that has been bugging me for a long time with Rockstar. We as players should have the freedom to take and store whatever vehicles we want within our own personal garages. There are groups out there that roleplay as cops and whatnot, and they would love to be able to store a police car or the FBI Granger for future use. I don't see the issue with allowing us to use/own/store vehicles that aren't customarily a car that can be owned. I understand that certain vehicles such as the firetruck or the Barracks truck may not be feasible to store in a garage, as well as the tank. This shouldn't affect us storing other vehicles that can go into the garages.

You specifically mention the Insurgent w/ mounted machine gun and I get that Rockstar wants that to be a called-in vehicle just like the tank. Why not, if it can do some damage, make it a special Pegasus vehicle, right? The thing is, we want more freedom than that. I fully understand having to call in a freakin' tank, but if it is a a vehicle we should be able to store it. We can fit a lifted Sandking into our garages, as well as the new Guardian, yet can't even own and store an Insurgent with a machine gun? I haven't got my hands on an Insurgent yet, but I'd be wiling to bet it isn't as tall as the the Guardian or the Sandking. It sucks, but I think Rockstar just doesn't want us to run around with our own personal death on wheels.

Also check out the Insurgent compared to the covered edition, the stats for the mounted gun version are better, and it also has three more seats than than the covered version, like why prevent use from fulfilling the potential of what I think is the most badass vehicle in GTA?

They're more or less the same, the heights of the Guardian and the Insurgent, and I 100% agree with you, it is complete bull that they have left out such a badass vehicle for use.

Good to know, this makes the case for withholding those vehicles from our garages weaker. It really is just a way to make us buy and use the Pegasus ordering system in their game. I wouldn't have such a problem with doing that if they would at least spawn the vehicle on us just as they do with our personal vehicles. I don't like driving halfway across the city just to have the Pegasus vehicle despawn and show up elsewhere. This happens to me more often than I'd like.

Also check out the Insurgent compared to the covered edition on Rockstar Social Club, the stats for the mounted gun version are better, and it also has three more seats than than the covered version, like why prevent use from fulfilling the potential of what I think is the most badass vehicle in GTA?

Yeah that is a shame that they are keeping this vehicle from it's full potential. Had they let us buy and store it, I could easily see more crews piling in and using it for the primary mission/offensive vehicle. Oh well, guess we will have to deal with calling it in constantly.

You have to complete the heists to earn the vehicles that were used in them

We might not have to, we could try to get people to band together and ask Rockstar en mass to change this, like the stunting community did, I mean, sure, the stunting community is fairly big, but someone needs to at least try and change this ridiculous decision, and together, Rockstar may just change their decision. Is it not worth a try?

I think it is worth a shot, but with the community the way it is now, finding some common ground to stand together on this one issue is going to be hard to do. I'm seeing a lot of complaining about all areas of this new DLC, while I'm just trying to enjoy it.

Yeah, but a lot of this complaining is about server instabilities, and people just being ungrateful because for once they have to work for the new vehicles and gear, whereas this is trying to improve the experience of the players and right a wrong decision.

I haven't unlocked any of those vehicles yet but I wouldn't be keeping them in my garage because they

have weapons and I suspect that's the reason R* are not allowing you to store them in garage which

is why they made them Pegasus only.

Also I suspect they don't want people putting a certain groups logo on them and running around free

roam causing trouble.

They'd have to write code to disable the weapons in the garage (as then you could invite players and

spawn kill them) and too lazy for that but it will be interesting to see if they take any notice of this but

I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Don't worry, I highly doubt Rockstar will notice this, but I would like to at least try to, as all of my friends were pretty mad with this, as it is a pretty badass vehicle. And for the coding part, they could probably just disable the use of certain buttons in certain interiors like garages like they did with how you cannot attack anyone or use weapons in a car. This is Rockstar, it probably wouldn't be much effort for them. :p

Take the one without the gun, looks more badass anyway.

Or are you one of the freeroam kids that shoots everyone?

Personal armed vehicles? Please no.

No... I prefer the look of the armed version, I'd prefer to be able to customise it, and it'd be fun to use with friends and during missions... Trust me, I hate "those kids". There is also the fact that I hate Pegasus, for how inconvenient it is, I'd much prefer to have it delivered for free, and to be able to do what I want with it :p

You know I would say just deal with it and move on because R* will never change or remove Pegasus or make vehicles like the insurgent storable but it's pointless to say that to someone on the internet, it's your opinion, nothing I can do about that. Then again You have to realize that R* didn't design the game based around your needs and wants, so you can have your opinion but remember you can't have everything you want either in life or some video game, well unless you're a PC gamer. Most of the complaints come from the fact that in order to use these vehicles in SP, you must still unlock them in Online.

(Or at least that what one rep from R* claims in a message that's been posted here earlier.)

Makes no sense considering now in SP everyone gets a "new vehicles in garage, helipads, hangars" notification, only to find nothing & clueless as to unlocking them. For those with connections not fit for online play, it's kinda like a big ol middle finger.

But like I said, it's worth a try, and also me and a lot of other people I know would've rather spent their 1.35 million on an Insurgent they can store and customise, rather than one that comes in a gross green colour, and cannot be customised or stored, and has to be accessed via Pegasus.

I just test drove the Insurgent (covered) in the creator mode and wondered is it possible to store that one in your garage and if so, can it be customised at all? I understand the ones with guns can't be, fair enough, but the covered version is badass and I REALLY want one, but I'm not going to splash out however much it costs only to find it's Pegasus crap. :(

Yes agreed, I haven't got anywhere near to unlocking those vehicles yet and my feelings may well change but good

luck, if it is successfull kudos to you.

I have to agree with OP on this issue, and I think you can see my leanings by looking at my profile picture and the words under said picture but yes, R* has done a great dis-service to this game by not allowing us to store more vehicles. hypothetically If someone is griefing you with a vehicle such as this, would you not just go find another session as is what one does when being griefed in any other manner? (eg. tank, lazer, spawncamp) or even go into passive mode?

Once again OP, I'm with you. Pegasus is quite annoying when I call in a vehicle and it de-spawns. (for example figuratively playing ping pong between hangars at the airport trying to get a besra to spawn)

Thanks, hopefully R* will take note, but like I said, I highly doubt it xD

Exactly, this is why Rockstar need to realise that a lot of people want this kind of thing, and if others don't like it? They can just go into passive mode anyway xD I don't see how it is a problem to them because they can be completely safe from them at the click of a button, but you know, people don't really seem to think about that And I also had another thread that was about bringing the Unmarked Cruiser into online and possibly getting them into our garages, but obviously that one wasn't too effective :/

Yeah, the covered one can be saved in your garage, I'm getting one regardless anyway, if they decide to change where you keep the Pick-up vairant, I'll still keep the covered one, or sell it so I can afford the garage version of the Pick-Up, who knows. But you can fully customise the covered version.
