To those completing heists without a mic

To require mics would be stupid. Not everyone has a mic. These will probably all be doable without one once you get the hang of it. Much like the missions that require you to work together, like Stocks and Scares, are an example of this.

So I say a mic is recommended, but not required.

I joined prison one didn't get past delivering the car as one guy was doing nothing kept getting killed by npc and other 2 in a zentorno come all the way to shipyard & purposely ran me over for no reason

Just to be sure, I bought one headset right now, should come to me on next week but until there, i'll be playing only the easiest heists anyway

I think that for the next couple of weeks, those who've played a lot of contact missions will have an advantage and not really have much use for a mic, other than to offer advice to those less experienced with missions. But once heists have been out for a little while (assuming they stay popular and people keep playing them) we're all going to know every bit of them backwards and forwards and completing them won't be that difficult, communication or no communication. When's the last time anyone failed Rooftop Rumble? Everyone kept playing that even after the payout re-balancing--not because it was the easiest or paid the best, but because they knew it by heart...

How was it and any advice?

I had one crew member with us in Prison Break and he was level 25, and the others were randoms. I also did Fleeca Bank and it was with randoms. No mics or problem completing either of them.

Not really problems a mic will solve, but alas endemic of GTAO since day one. Next R* DLC: The long needed reliability DLC where they make things work without fail. :)

We all kept running into each other and falling over because none of us had mics. sh*ts hard out here yo..

No so far (I have a mic btw) I haven't had the need for one. sh*ts straight forward so far.

my turtle beech's are broke so i dont have a mic currently...so far im up to the 2nd Heist finale and havent had any problems...I check everyone's K/d before i start..If you dont have a 1.3 or higher i boot them, has been smooth for me

Wait, what does their PvP K/D have to do with a PvE mission?

Alot most kids that are mentally incoherent have terrible K/D's

it's more or less the other way, They spend all their time playing CoD and not doing their homework so they may be stupid but they have a high K/D doesn't mean they are good in missions.

From my experience it does mean there good in missions....Atleast i know when those shoot out happens they wont be killed in 2s and cause your heist setup or heist finale to be ruined

Individuals on Xbox One who get the Spectra controllers or other aftermarket types, they don't come with mic ports currently, with no real heads up about that missing element on the boxes. "Requiring" a mic for such heists & such would automatically eliminate alot of potential players.

I remember that there was a lot of talk before GTAO came out about how mics were going to be pretty vital to be able to complete even just the ordinary contact missions, and that's turned out not to be the case. I've been watching a lot of the gameplay so far on twitch (Microsoft, fix your damn servers!), and I can definitely see where a mic would be useful in some situations, but I haven't really seen anything where it'll be impossible to do it without one. If you see someone make a mistake that fails the mission, just take a few seconds to send them a msg before the next attempt and let 'em know what to do, instead. The hype about how mics were going to be necessary to pull off the split-second timing at certain points seems overblown--at least thru the first 3 heists (haven't seen anyone get as far as #4 yet)...

just buy a mic.

"I don't have a mic" Did you know the ps4 came with the mic? Did you also know any headphones work with the ps4 remote, it's not a greed box one where a adapter is needed.

I'll let you know for sure once R* and MS get their sh*t together, but I'm pretty sure I'll be just fine without one, thanks. I've played enough contact missions (all of 'em, not just RR) and I know how to read the map and follow the directions it's giving me on the bottom of the screen. I can do my job--the only reason I feel like I'm ever going to need a mic is to offer friendly tips to other players who can't figure out how to do theirs.

"I don't have a mic" Did you know the ps4 came with the mic? Did you also know any headphones work with the ps4 remote, it's not a greed box one where a adapter is needed.

I did know that. But did you know that not everyone has a PS4? Or an XB1, either? Or maybe they had a headset at one time, broke it, and decided that since they barely ever used it that it wasn't worth replacing. Or maybe they're a mute, or even a mime that takes their job very seriously.

I'm actually considering getting a new mic if I find out that I really need one for heists (not actually expecting that to happen, tho), but I'm not going to spend the money until I know that for sure. And I just have this feeling that the people who say, "Dude, you can get a cheap one for just a few bucks," are also the first ones to complain "Dude, your mic sucks!!" at the first crackle of static...

True what's being said, mic really isn't needed if at least 3 of the players are good and especially if already done. After 2/3 weeks to a month, most people would have done majority of heist missions so random's won't be an issue.

One good thing has come out of using the mics, myself and many others have met some good people and made friends to enhanced their GTA experience. Its nice strangers getting together for one cause.

After a couple of plays on each heat, surely everyone will get the jist of their role and will complete it without talking. It's only unfamiliarity which is hindering the newcomers progress.

Did anyone actually tell you how to play RR? You play it once, learn the simple spawns and where enemies are, then replay it in half the time.

Did the first heist with a rank 22. He had a mic though and only blew up the objective once

Only did the first heist so far, with one guy who had a mic but wasn't talking. Went quite well and even got the achievement for not taking any damage during the finale.

I don't have much friends on GTA, so I've been inviting randoms and whenever the online services stop messing up I can try again and see how it goes with a 4 player heist.

It could also just mean that they're good with a jet, or spend a lot of time rolling around in free-roam in their tank.

Unless they have a ridiculously low K/D (like below 0.20) then I don't think there's anything you can tell about someone from the loading screen that'd give you an idea of how good a player they are in general, or in missions in particular. And if your setup or finale does get ruined, so what? From everything I've seen they're 15-minute missions at most, so if you fail and realize your team sucks, you quit and re-start that mission with a new group...

There is a lot of ppl on ps4 without mic, and it comes with one (I use it until I get money for a decent headset). I think they are just lazy to get it.
