To those completing heists without a mic

Ive only played up to the Prison Break heist, but it seems theres a big element of luck involved. If you get one or more bad players on your team, they will probably mess up leading to mission failure, especially if they are assigned a difficult task. In the future, I'll try and find out which role is most difficult, and take it on for myself, in order to minimize mission failure.

Wasn't a challenge, per se, but it was a bit frustrating not knowing what was taking him so long to do what he had to do.

my turtle beech's are broke so i dont have a mic currently...so far im up to the 2nd Heist finale and havent had any problems...I check everyone's K/d before i start..If you dont have a 1.3 or higher i boot them, has been smooth for me

I did Fleeca and it's setups at like 3am ET with a random because i didn't want to wait for friends/crew. I can't imagine doing even that bank job without a mic let-alone the more intricate ones that come later.

I unplugged mine. No randoms using mics, except 2 players who didn't speak English. (I'm monolingual)

my turtle beech's are broke so i dont have a mic currently...so far im up to the 2nd Heist finale and havent had any problems...I check everyone's K/d before i start..If you dont have a 1.3 or higher i boot them, has been smooth for me

Wait, what does their PvP K/D have to do with a PvE mission?

Sorry for being a bit of a dick but try and pick up some Spanish. It's one of the more straight forward languages and more countries use variations of it than English. Portuguese, French, Chinese and Japanese are other good source languages but are a bit trickier to grasp.

I played mic-less with randoms on Prison Break earlier (before servers went down)

 

I think one person in the group died once each... then we had it locked down, took about an hour.

 

Guess you just gotta get lucky with randoms that aren't useless

so far I have done the first 2 heists with only random people and no mic. It's not as hard as people are making it out to be, especially the prison break. Was over and done with in under 20 minutes or so.

 

 

Edit: the final part was the 20 minute or so part. the rest was quicker

Did the first heist twice now, both with and without a mic.

 

It helps when the other player has to hack using their phone, and you have to wait for them while driving.

 

If they finish their task, they can say, yes, drive into the next corona. Otherwise there may be a lag from when the game tells you the other player has finished their task. Making things take longer than needed. Plus the elite challenge is a timed one i believe.

Best way is to gather a good group from the set up missions, then you should have a competent group going into the finale

I've completed fleeca and prison break heist without a mic, they're not needed at all in those 2.

 

In prison heist for example 2 of you go shooting up the prison, 1 is in a plane and 1 is in a buzzard protecting the plane, you all have seperate jobs apart from the 2 in the prison which is just shooting npcs, there's no deep strategy involved.

Communication obviously makes the getaway easier but I really don't think a mic is needed in the 1st 2 heists.

Yep. Not as hard as IGN led us to believe - the noobs I imagine the last ones will be harder, but should still be a cakewalk on repeat plays. The 10M challenge should be fun.

I remember that there was a lot of talk before GTAO came out about how mics were going to be pretty vital to be able to complete even just the ordinary contact missions, and that's turned out not to be the case. I've been watching a lot of the gameplay so far on twitch (Microsoft, fix your damn servers!), and I can definitely see where a mic would be useful in some situations, but I haven't really seen anything where it'll be impossible to do it without one. If you see someone make a mistake that fails the mission, just take a few seconds to send them a msg before the next attempt and let 'em know what to do, instead. The hype about how mics were going to be necessary to pull off the split-second timing at certain points seems overblown--at least thru the first 3 heists (haven't seen anyone get as far as #4 yet)...
