Heists - Awesome or frustrating?

Recommended Posts

So it feels like a brand new game but then also feels so frustrating like the old game. Connection issues are simply killing it. Started the prison break heist today got through all 4 setups and then my crew and I kept getting kicked off in the final task.

More awesome than frustrating. The heists are fun with friends, but I understand how you feel when it comes to connection issues. I've had my fair share of people lagging out or having to restart their consoles. The time lost due to technical issues can quickly add up.

Try doing heists with your crew from an invite only lobby. We have the fewest issues with connectivity that way. Also inviting the crew one at a time instead of as a bunch helped on PS3. Much fewer issues on PS4.

You can do an internet connectivity test from your settings menu (under network) and reset your cache. Sometimes that helps too. (PS3, can't speak for XB)

We did that too. Weirdly, one of our crew had trouble getting into the IO lobby, so we ended up 3 of us in IO and he would join from whichever lobby he spawned in.

Can't say enough for Invite Only lobbies. Bliss.

They're just high-paid missions that unlock content.

Stop pretending they're anything else.

Pretty much. I hope it doesn't become a standard thing for new content. I shouldn't have to rely on others help to unlock new content. And all the content in the next update better be in single player. It's bullsh*t none of the content from the heist update wasn't.

Me and my friends are working on the All in order, Loyalty and Criminal mastermind challenges. I am excited to do these challenges and although we have prepared for CM greatly, if we fail it we will just keep on going. We'll be getting the two million along with the heist money. As for your question, I only find heists frustrating if I am joining randoms or allowing randoms to join me and we fail, disconnect etc..

its a multiplayer.....we honestly need more such things, i just cant be against anything that awards teamwork

though seeing freeroam burn is fun, even that is getting a bit old

I enjoy the Heists....only a couple set-ups I do not care for much. Other than that, I think the heist DLC has been a lot of fun.

The frustrating part.....members failing to DL. Playing with randoms can be frustrating too. However, I sort of expect that playing with randoms will more often than not, be a huge failure. So I do not find that as frustrating as others do. I do not rely on randoms to get heists complete. I have a great crew and we farm these heists daily.

If you have good teammates they are EPIC.

Cakewalk....as others said, just glorified contact missions. I've even done them with randoms without any problems.

I think that's the reason I dislike them, too easy. Plus everything goes against having fun with heist. Oh someone gets disconnected, f*ck it you all do. It was a missed opportunity by rockstar to make it great. Also they should have stayed with the single player platform of it. Give us two different ways to complete the heist.

I expected them to be worthless so I was surprised at how polished they were. I think they are really only an issue for broke players, the rich ones did them for the fun and experience and not as a source of revenue.

They're frustrating for two reasons, the first one being that people are just not that good at the game on average (not R*'s fault). The other reason is the connection issues. If someone leaves the lobby just as the game is launching (which happens frequently) then you have to spend 5 minutes in the clouds before you're back on the ground and ready to go through the same again.

It could have been alot better in my opinion. If we had two different opinions to do each heist like single player, that would have been great (more replay "fun" value) also rockstar should have had a standard payout and never left it up to us to control that.

I think heist should have had an experience bar that you leveled up after each setup and or heist completed. That way you get paid off of experience. No need to wait forever for people to click ready.
