Anyone else experiencing lag on next gen?

When I first got an xbox one about 3 months ago, for the first month or so gta online was pretty much unplayable on it as I'd have to be really lucky to stay in a freemode lobby for more than 5-10 minutes without losing connection.

This was just a problem with the servers as after a while it went away and I could play online the same as I used to play it on xbox 360.

 

However, now it seems I am experiencing gameplay issues which could possibly be due to my internet connection and not the servers but I do believe it is the servers or the next-gen version of the game because occasionally I play gta online with my friends on xbox 360 and don't experience this problem.

 

Quite frequently I will shoot at someone several times, sometimes even emptying a whole clip, and they don't lose any health. Sometimes they will "skip" from one end of a street to another as in they appear to be in one place but due to some problem with the servers or the connection they are actually not there anymore. Sometimes they are where I see them but when I shoot them they don't seem to lose any health and only die like 10-15 seconds after being shot.

 

I have been in situations where I am in cover behind a wall and another player is coming towards me and when I shoot at them they will fall on the ground with me still shooting them and then they somehow kill me because they shot me faster when on my screen it appears they did not fire a single bullet.

 

I can still play missions and races etc. fine and usually without these issues but this lag in freemode is really making the game frustrating and not worth playing anymore.

 

Is this lag due to the rockstar servers? Is it my internet connection, my console or maybe the game disc?

 

If anyone knows what I can do to get rid of this problem please let me know as I want to enjoy gta online like i used to .

I know man.. I hate this sh*t. Does not happen constantly. But it happens with certain players constantly. I frequently run into the same players who have this issue. I can't defend myself against them. Its annoying...

That's how P2P server works and I hate it like 99% of other people.

The ones who get the advantage is the one who lives closest to the server.

Damn. On one hand I'm relieved to hear it's not just me and on the other hand I'm disappointed to see that Rockstar can't or aren't doing anything about it. I thought it would at least be fixed in time for heists like the issue with getting booted back to story mode every 5-10 minutes but nope, it's already happened a few times today.

 

I guess it might have something to do with the next-gen servers being able to hold 30 players at once but I would have thought a company like Rockstar would be able to deal with something like this.
