how is the savage helicopter ?

You can't fire anything as a gunner in the Savage, it's simply a navigator's seat for this game. The Valkerie can shoot explosive rounds from the gunner seat though. It's a shame it has really short range. It would be something to be feared if the range was grater. I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about the fact that you can use RPGs and snipers in any helicopter, yet. Thr savage is a beast with two RPG wielders on both sides. Unfortunately you can't use Homing Missles though, I'm assuming because that would be too OP.

As someone who has been pretty good at taking players out with a buzzard. I love the savage but it is pretty slow at climbing to altitude and maneuvers like the giant beast that it is. It's like 3 times the size as the buzzard but is a blast to fly around in. It's really too bad you can pop flares to avoid homing launchers because you're a pretty easy target.

 

I only flew it around for a couple hours but I don't regret the purchase. If you're not big on flying helicopters often then the buzzard is a better choice. It's faster, easier to escape homing missiles, more agile and can fit in tighter spaces.

 

I give the savage a 9/10 because of its armour, it starts smoking way faster than it should in my opinion.

The Savage can volley guided missiles, four in a row with minimal cooldown because there's more.

The Buzzard shoots two, and they have a noticable cool down in a tough spot.

The Savage has better firepower.

 

The Savage is slower.

The Buzzard is faster.

 

The Savage has a massive wingspan, and isn't agile. It's alot like the Annihilator.

The Buzzard has a small wingspan, and is very nimble.

 

The Savage looks way cooler, and is new and shiny.

The Buzzard is old and ubiquitous.

 

I held out buying a helo for my 2nd til after hists. I bought it a Buzzard this evening. I value the agility and speed more than the missile volley.

I haven't had time to really play with the Savage yet after buying it but judging from the mission you encounter it in the biggest concern shouldn't be from rocket launchers it should be from players who are good snipers, the rocket pods are big, extremely vulnerable targets for a heavy sniper rifle.

Do Not buy this helicopter... It's the worst in the game.. The savage helicopter is about 3 times slower than the buzzard.. It deaccelerates faster than it could accelerate.. It's weaker than the buzzard and it only takes about one or two clips of an ap pistol to send it into critical damage.. It only takes one hit of a rocket and no one else is able to control anything on it.. And guess what.. NO FLARES.. there is no way to dodge locked on missles also.. It's a waste of 1.9 mil.. i made an account today to warn you guy's about this mistake of a military helicopter.. I'm pretty angry rockstar ruined a bassass looking helicopter.. the sh*t is basically a giant "lock on to me cause i can't manuver anywhere" sign

Once my friend and i got a cargobob and picked up the truck duneloader with it. I was standing on the truck bed safe and sound flying up the air. And the best part was that i was able to use homing launcher and shoot down at other players. No one stood a chance.

The valkyrie is also a beast.

 

I know some people have been trying to say it sucks in free mode but if you know what you're doing you won't get hit by the homing missile, giving your co-pilot a chance to wreck face.

 

Standard RPGs however are more worrying than homing missiles in the Valkyrie.

I also find it funny how you automatically assume i suck with it.. I guess you call being locked on for six blocks away "sucking" since i still wasn't able to outrun it after two more blocks.. I also guess getting shot by merryweather at the helicopter pickup sucking also..

And like I said before there is a Pilot seat and Gunner seat on the Savage. If you don't believe me try asking one of your friends to gun the savage and you will see that there is a gunner seat in the Savage.

Can the 'gunner' actually gain access to the cannons/missiles?

Yes. Just like the Buzzard.

I was wondering if anyone else is having the same problem as me against police choppers. I just bought this thing last night and was trying out against cops. It's pretty beast for firepower and all that but when i tried to shoot down the police chopper it was like the bullets were just passing straight through. I know the range on the cannon is not the best but these guys were basically right in front of me at various points with the dot squarely pointed at 'em. Yet I for the life of me could not do any damage. Just wondering if this could be a bug or I'm just missing something here. Otherwise this thing is a beast but it falls apart rather quickly. The police gunner made swiss cheese outta me in a matter of seconds.

Using it for LS Connection, every time my infinite missile spam failed to hit its target I would simply quickswitch to the cannon and take the f*ckers out then quickswitch back to constant spam, everything died.

It's possible but very, very difficult to evade it most of the time. The only real defense is using the terrain to mask yourself. That and using the acceleration + dropping altitude quick when you hear the homing launcher seeker "seeking" tones before the actual lock tone.

Complete the heist setup "Pacific Standard - Convoy" then it will be avaliable to buy on Warstock Cache and Carry.
