My female character's face has changed since Heists download, and

Rockstar has apparently found a "fix" for these horrific transformations. I haven't downloaded the update yet because I don't want my character to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger in drag. Is it safe?

This is what happened to me except it's permanent. Has this happened to anyone else? And also is there a fix? It's been like this since yesterday. Rockstar Support is useless.

 

I really suggest you to just send them a ticket and then hours later remind them again. That's what I did.

 

Seems many of us in PS3 has been fixed, but then the problem spread elsewhere.

The face glitch has struck my 2nd character Hector. For some reason, he now has the facial structure of my main character. He looks awful. Great. As if this day couldn't get any frickin' worse.

Rockstar's recommended fix doesn't work, and everything else I've seen doesn't work either.

Incase anyone was wondering I decided to just recreate my character and take a screenshot of each setting. When I got online it was as if I never played on the PS4 before. At least I still had all my cars.

Do the character recreation glitch, it lets you change your character's face back to normal.

 

1. Make a new character in slot 2. (Keep your main)

2. Get new character to level 6

3. Go to swap character

4. Choose level 6 character again

5. When it asks you if you want to change your appearance, disconnect your internet/sign out of PSN/XBL

6. Stay signed out until story mode loads up completely, then sign back in.

7. Pause, go to online then select the choose character.

8. Choose your main and edit them back to normal.

Can I ask, what were you doing before it happened in each case? Was it simply 'started the game, and *bang* - glitched character', or did you do something else, like putting on a mask?

 

Trying to compile as much info as possible, since I've actually been fortunate enough for R* Support to get back in touch several times over this - I'm hoping I can get them to either come up with a more comprehensive fix (hence why all examples are useful - the more they know about what causes it, the better), or simply to let us use the character creator more readily, so we can actually fix this kind of thing ourselves.

Usfull glitch for new players but useless as hell for anyone with two characters beyond level 100 which is nearly everyone on the forum.

Updated 3/11/15: This issue has now been resolved. To restore your original character appearance, please follow these steps:

Enter GTAV and load into Story Mode

Pause the game

Highlight the “ONLINE” tab

Choose “Choose Character”

Select your affected character

Once you re-enter GTA Online, your original character appearance will be restored. If you are still experiencing issues with your character’s appearance, please submit a request to our team for individual assistance.

Yeah - according to the (updated) Support topic, if people are still experiencing problems after the recent fix/trying the suggested solution, they'll be dealing with individual cases one-on-one. Wonder if that means they've got the means to properly recover people's actual character settings - even if the game's saved with the b*llocks'd-up ones. I certainly hope so...

Yes. Everybody is wrong. The characters didn't really change. Rockstar is fixing a non-existing issue. Thank you bro I can sleep better now that I know it's not the character that's changed but my eyesight that's f*cked up.

I already contacted R*, still no answer. It's annoying that I can't wear any mask because changes the character face.

Tried that twice already, they just ignore me. Theres no way in hell I'm doing that glitch with second character slot because I just got my second dude to rank 130 and I use him all the time. I asked on support if they could just give me another chance to alter my appearance, still waiting on a reply but I highly doubt they'll do that. Edited March 12, 2015 by DrunkenMunkey78

Before you attempt this, do some research first, as an issue can arise:

 

If the character you will be changing (reverting) the appearance of owns any Pegasus vehicles, you just may lose them.

 

Not sure if there is a workaround currently, but I do remember this being reported by a few users.

My first and main character was a male, but then, back when people were handing hacked dolla to everyone and I got a lot of it, I felt like I had to make a second character for obvious reasons.

So I went with female character, just becasue I wanted to have something different than what I was playing already. Is not like I want to pretend to be a girl, or secretly wish I was one.
