Is drilling as realistic as IRL?

Currently sat outside the bank waiting for the driller to finish doing the first hack. Been 10 minutes now and this is the 2nd person I've tried to do it with. First person failed twice. Zzzzz

Don't push R2 down all the way - try halfway and then push forward with the left stick.

 

It starts to make progress, then pull back away from the vault when it starts to overhear and release R2.

 

It took a bit of practice for me to.

 

With regard the hacking - I did the heist twice - once as leader and then switched. The hacking you do on the way to the bank is MUCH more complicated than the one you do on the way to the warehouse - so if you've done the first, but can't understand why someone is taking longer with the other...give them a break!

I just finished it too, wasn't difficult, although the last hacking sequence was a nuisance, flew through the first 2 though, I'm sure I'll get better with practice. The setup/heist is very easy even when on hard.

Drilling is simple.. Hold RT and push the left joystick up only a bit maybe half way.. Not all the way.. Youll get the hang of it in no time!

Okay. Finished it on hard on PS3, with a random stranger that was the leader. First try. Easy, but quite fun.

I found the drilling to be very easy and simple, it's just like if you were drilling in real life, you need to only lightly push the analog stick and start drilling before you hit the metal, if the drill bit turns red slow down.

 

The hack took me about 15 attempts just because I'm a bit heavy handed and it was quite difficult for me to do such light controls so quickly.

How was the hack minigame? I just tried to do Fleeca but I was driver, I got to the bank, I parked in a fruit stand and had to wait for the driller to hack, after 10 minutes I gave up and left the game. Next time I will try bring driller.

I managed 140k on my first as the driver, I reckon the driller/hacker made out with 160k.

 

To the person asking if Heists are just a series of contact missions, no, it didn't feel that way at all. They introduced new elements to gameplay, and they assign roles and force you to work as a team.

For the next heist to start you just need to wait for Lester to call you. Takes a few minutes.

Just finished this with a level 35 random and we completed it just now, let me tell you it wasnt a cake walk, the drilling had to be the toughest part, the hacking mini game was brilliant imo, for a 2 person heist this was great and i cant wait to try the others! ( i have also just unlocked both versions of the kuruma upon completing this heist)

My teammate was constantly talking about how cool those minigames were. I was just driving and pointing a gun at innocent bank customers. Heh.

Just read the prompts on the screen. 15-20 mins? Jeez.. took me about 30 secs first time. Of course I own a Bosche hammer drill IRL and use it to drill concrete on occasion
