Hello!

 

 

My PS4 is weird. My Internet gives about 10 Mbps on download speed, but my PS4 can only go up to about 2 Mbps. Why? I really want to download the heist update/DLC before I leave for school and my PS4 speed is too slow. Can anyone help? Please!?

My download speed is 200 kbps

But i'm sure i will be playing Heists before the day is over.

So i think that with 2 mbps of download will let you play it in no time.

unplug your router and plug straight from the modem into your PS4 with a cable and test the speed. If its lower than the 10mbs you say you normally get then chances are you are on a BUS system and share internet with your whole street. If not then its a networking issue

oh wait are you DL at 2mbs or did you speed test at 2mbs? Because you know you are depending on the server you are DL from for a decent speed right? Like I have a 100mbs connection but I can only DL from steam at about 10-15mbs because I am not personally cabled to steam I DL off the server

Bro, PS always have slower download for some reason.

 

Also, never do that background download. It will get you even slower.

I'm going to try using an Ethernet cable. I will be back with results in a bit.

 

 

 

Edit: My PS4 just got the heist update/DLC! It should be done in about a couple hours via WiFi. Sorry for the trouble!

I'm having the same issue. I got the first gig in 2 minutes, then all of a sudden it went from 17 minutes left to 19 hours left. I reset my router and I'm already using an ethernet cable.

its just the MS/PS servers struggling to withstand the pressure of everyone DL the patch at the same time. Dont worry about it it will speed up as people drop off

Yeah sorry, games companies haven't really got the hang of cloud and auto scaling yet. Would be so easy to spin up extra to cope with the load
