It was announced in June, for fall 2014. It was then delayed (1) to January. It was then delayed (2) to March. It was then delayed (3) to April.

WHO CARES? The point is....that three delays are enough to convince anyone with a brain that something is wrong at rockstar....personally, I think it is as everyone has said...so they can make more money by delaying the game...nothing to do with "polishing" at all! "It's all about the Benjamin's Baby"!

 

Now if it runs great at launch and there are no more delays as fanboys seem to think? Then all of this will probably be forgotten...if not and it turns out to be a mess....then Rockstars reputation with the PC community will take a nosedive...way more than it already has!

 

Time will tell.

I don't think they're being honest but that's only because they've always put the PC version at the back of the queue (if WB/Rocksteady does this with Arkham Knight again like they did with the previous two entries I'd not be surprised).

 

Oddly they had more than enough time to port from the supposedly very different architecture of the old-gen consoles to the current ones (that again are supposed to be easier to port to PC once done) and yet they've managed to delay the crap out of it while still pushing out the heists updates as their first priority. Could they have pushed out a version and then provided updates that enable additional PC-specific updates that probably a vast majority of us won't even use (such as 4k support)? I guess we don't really know but I'd like to believe that they could have.

SCS for exemple. They often give news about what's going on, what they're working on, what can we expect and such. That is good communication.

I run 2 980s. Some games don't work with SLI. So I run some games in single card mode. However, having just got my second 980 last month, I did play a bunch of games with one. Ryse: Son of Rome has frame drops, hell, even the first Crysis doesn't run maxed on a single 980 and maintain 60fps. Perhaps I'm not the stupid one, you don't even appear to own the card yourself.

 

I can name a few more, if that's what you want.

Considering some of the reviews at Glassdoor, I voted No, but at the same time it's a Perhaps for me at the same time.

I'm angry at the delays like the rest of you, but you also have to remember that these are human beings that are working to put food on the table.

 

Being a game developer isn't easy. It's hard work and I don't envy those guys one bit.

Watch Dogs was (and still is) so buggy it almost gave me a nervous breakdown. The proof in the pudding of how bad it is lies in the fact that Ubisoft isn't even trying to fix it (between the bugs and their blatant lies about nerfing the PC gfx); AFAIK they're just going for a Watch Dogs 2 release. *cough cough* Like anyone with half a brain will buy it. lol

I've got this feeling they delayed it to April because that's when the new fiscal year of Take Two starts and I think they wanted to make it the first game then. Delaying it for 3 more weeks just for extra polishing is really not believable so it's obviously something else.

 

From January to March/April it probably is due problems with the multiplayer and other stuff. Perhaps really also more polishing. I don't know.

I wonder why R* still is dealing with Take Two.

They take a lof of money from the retail price and by delaying the game into the new fiscal year they made all PC gamers mad and ruined R*'s repuation (this idea is from reddit).

Why wouldn't R* just make direct deals with Steam, Sony and MS. With their name, these three would gladly make any deal without taking a giant cut off the money. All of them are also known as publisher, and can still do some dirty work like advertisement and disc manufacturing.
