Good video, looks totally amazing.

In all fairness though, it would have had the same effect as a PS3/PS4 comparison before any PC screens were released.

I'm not one of those console vs pc guys I honestly couldn't care less. I know PCs are much more powerful and more capable of producing higher quality graphics and all the rest, but I think until the PC version actually comes out and you can compare with actual gameplay, its an unfair comparison.

why are people comparing PROMOTIONAL pictures with IN GAME screen caps?

Its just so redundant

They were all in game screens. The PC version is the one they All came from.

yeah like the PS4 "ingame" promo pics that had animals right?

everyone knows in game and promo are never the same

They were all in game screens. The PC version is the one that most of them came from (it was proved as the new versions came with features the old ones didn't have).

So many people saying Draw Distance, so many people being Wrong.

Folks, come on, the Draw Distance is the same, it's the DETAIL DISTANCE that's increased, the amount of distance to keep objects and dynamics loaded compared to switching them to LOD form.

so what's draw distance then? because in GTA IV when i set draw distance to 100/100 and leave detail distance at 1/100 i still get the smaller objects to render further

Draw Distance is the full frame render distance, see those mountains, that's how far the DRAW DISTANCE is spanning, the farclip view from the player, to put it in the most basic terms, that's how far out it's drawing the LOD's.

Detail Distance controls dynamic objects drawing and how far out the player can see the map before it triggers into an LOD state.

Funny thing is, Console players, talking PS3 and 360 here, were complaining about the Draw Distance being TOO HIGH, because it makes the map feel small, so in the PS4/XBO versions of the game they added an extra layer of Fog/Smog to make things in the distance seem further out.

Draw distance is for static objects, detail distance if for non-static objects (there may be some exceptions, but this is how it works as far as I know).

Amazing job, this comparison showed me how much did GTA V evolved since 2013, it's breathtaking. I have a feeling that it will look even better when we're going to play it.

maybe with mods, but I'm pretty sure devs try to show the best graphics possible in screenshots.

I don't understand what you're suggesting, those photos confirm what I'm saying, Detail Distance controls the dynamics and small details spanning out from the player view, where as Draw Distance controls the overall farclip, try take that picture in an area that shows off high a large area of the map, e.g. the docks in Bohan looking out to Algonquin, etc.
